50 plus people cutting through a fenceline in 30 seconds .how can the security possibly get there in time .with 11 miles of fenceline you would need hundreds of officers at each post 24 7..im sorry but these officers are doing their best to protect the public .i think it would be great if the public gave them support not more stress...if your going to protest donyt break the law and ruin hard working families holidays and others jobs..time for the police to get tough?
the UK per capita regarding CO output is number 37 in the world so why dont you hitchike your way off to china and india and protest there.. we all want to save the world but some of us wold like to do it in a more EDUCATED and realistic way...it no good having a phd/BSC if it's in stupidity, Working class people simply dont give a toss about CO emmisions if its comming out of our already overtaxed wages,i susspect most of these fools dont have a family to feed nor a job...
i suppose this silly little group is going to reimburse the average working class folk when the price of petrol goes up or our once a year holiday is inaccessible due to gov tax...
wake up folk....you have not got a barney what you are talking about..
even if global warming is a farce one cant deny all the lead, mercury and carbon monoxide we dump into the air and the oceans is harmful to both us and the environment.
Stupid wankers, you have just made all those people who missed their flights think global warming is complete shit! You are all dumber than a dislexic chicken!
There was a ptotest the day before...anyone hear about that? It has 6000 people not 65. Direct action certainly raises the issue. It's not meant to win the argument, others can do that once the topic is being discussed.
If we lived in a true democracy and our politicians actually listened to our pleas and petitions and marches then perhaps something would have been done by now. Unfortunately we don't and it hasn't so desperate times are calling for desperate measures. The actions taken at Stansted are highly commendable and if a few people were inconvenienced then that's a shame but everyone needs to step back and look at the wider picture.
Stupid fucking bastards! They were all silly little students with NO EDUCATION! Good they got arrested! They should be locked up, the good for nothing pricks! I suppose when they want a stupid GAP YEAR how are they going to get to Thiland and Africa??? To pretend that they are helping under priveledged children! By plane!
I was there but i only have a BSc in Biomolecular Sciences, most of the crew where masters graduates and some are doing PHD's so as a matter of fact you couldnt be much more wrong.
Wow...clap clap clap. For such intelligent people you act so ignorantly. All the flights inbound to Stansted had to be diverted to other airports using up more fuel...thanks to you. So no, you didn't achieve alot actually. :)
In fact, flying to a nearby airport and landing takes up quite alot less fuel than you might think as it's takeoffs and landings that create the most fumes, cruising at altitude is relatively healthy in comparison. Also you have to take into account the 50something flights that didn't take off because of it in the first place.
Well, no not really as the aircraft would have decended already, it cruises at 35-40,000ft. And that's when it uses up less fuel. Not when it's decending to about 10,000ft. Oh, and the 50 something flights have made no difference to climate change...
The airport were awarwe of the break in at 3am, when it happened so i think they may have had some prior warning and been able to divert the flights before descent.
And the flights inbound for Stansted got diverted to where? Manchester, East Midlands, Luton...all places which are a bit furthur to fly to, using more fuel. And of course they then have to fly BACK to where they were originally heading, which was Stansted, thus, using more fuel. :)
Why are you sorry for? If Im "apparently" embaressing myself? Actually I am not. You lot embarresed yourselves by acting like the spoilt little stuck up posh children that you are. You selfish, spoilt brats. Your posh, toff parents are the ones who all own a 7 seater car EACH and your worrying about climate change? Please...
I'm no science-PHD-Person, I don't think many people here are but I've certainly read alot on either side of the climate change fence and that means more than watching an Al Gore or Channel 4 doc. I've come to the conclusion that it's messy info, it's pretty 50/50 and it is hard to tell. I've decided that the consequences of doing nothing about it at this stage are FAR too high and the changes that we want to make are certainly not as detrimental as the risk of doing nothing when we can.
You're a serious asshole. Do you think these are the kind of people that fly to Afica and Thailand often? No, also they have more insight into prgrammes like working at orphanages, knowing that in the long run it rarely actually helps. Don't tar everyone with the same brush you fascist.
Also, how dare you call them stupid? They meticulously strategised a plan and managed to successfully accomplish it by breaking onto Stansted Airoprt! I'd like to see you try that!
Please.....And where did I tar everyone with the same brush? And no, I wouldn't DARE try to break into Stansted Airport. Let's face it, if any of the people were asian I'm sure you would have something to say about terrorism. You're the asshole. Prick
Selfish people who don't have a clue how to organise a campaign. You are supposed to get the public on your side not fucking stop them from going about their business, flying home to be with sick relatives, flying to see their children and flying because they are not rich little university kids like the protesters who can afford other means of travel. SELFISH FUCKERS. I say name the members of this group and look at what they are doing closely.
IF THEY CAN afford other means of travel then it's not their fault that others can't. Did you know that the government use £500 of every taxpayers money, per year, to subsidise BAA and airlines in the uk? If they stopped that and put it into more environmentally friendly travel like buses or trains then other travel would be just as cheap, if not cheaper than flying!
It has to be everyones responsibility to change the way they live and especially travel these days.

You miss-spelt an important word in your comment. Opps. Also, dyslexics can be very bright. Finally, your logic is appulling.

wow was that sarcasm, cos damn you are clever. My god, you have only one joke m8, and guess what, you are it!

the whole purpose of this protest was to raise publicity and the only way to do so is to basically be a pain in the ass.
