I grew up in KS and watched this every day when I got home from school many years ago. I am watching The Santa Clause & the puppets reminded me of Toyboy. I loved this show & was so glad to find it here. It still makes me laugh when they go zooming around the world. I don't think it was in color when I watched it though.
"...Only (insert #) more days until Santa, Kakeman (or Toyboy) and all the toys for the girls and boys, go zooooooming around the big wide world, zooming and zooming.....!!!!!!"
Wow I grew up outside of Talmage KS and I really loved Toy Boy and Santa. Watching this brought back so many great memories like when the tv would get all snowy and I could hear Toy Boys voice wow what a great show. I remember laying in bed and I swear I could actually hear toy boys voice while he and Santa put all the G.I. Joes and transformers under the tree.
I am from KS!!!! Where can I find an entire season of these on video for MY kids!!! This is CLASSIC tv viewing!!!!! LOVE IT THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to be 44 next week. My sisters and I watched this every year when we were little until it went off the air. Santa, Toy Boy and Kakeman made a differance in our lives. We felt their was really a santa clause! Watching this just made me feel little again. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
I LOVED this show so much as a kid. It was a great way to count down those days till Christmas. I watched it every day during the seasons...every year, and made sure to point out to my mom the toys I wanted =). This show brings back such great memories. Hot chocolate and popcorn nights.
I remember watching Santa and Toy Boy when I was a little kid. I always went to see him when he came to my town. Shoot, I think about every kid in town did the same thing.
Henry Harvey was a jewel of a man. He WAS Santa Clause to me. I grew up in Newton and watched 'Santa's Workshop' with KAKEman from the Friday after Thanksgiving till Christmas Eve. I'm so glad it is back on the air with Henry's son playing Santa. I'm in Tulsa now and would love to see a local version spring up here.
I grew up in KS and every time I think of the holidays I think of this show. Especially Toy Boy. His voice still gets stuck in my head after all these years. I'm so glad I did a search for this so I could email it to all of my friends that also grew up in KS and somehow forgot about this little gem - so that they could have this in their heads with me this year. Thanks for posting!! - from Brooklyn NY
I grew up with Santa and toy boy and Kakeman...this made my heart and Christmas sprit soar..this made me cry...I use to run home to watch this and counted down the days with Santa..zoooming around the big wide world..I loved this show and he was SANTA to me. TOYBOY was so funny...Thank you for making me feel that again..I am in IRAQ and you made my year.
The guy that played Santa actually died a while back and now his son has taken over. If I'm not mistaken Dec 08 was the first season with the son and the first season in a long, long time. It still has that good old fashioned quality to it and toy boy is as good as ever. Check it out this December on KAKE!
I grew up in Salina watching this every night in december. Before he was toy boy he was kakeman on channel 10, when he switched to channel 12 he became toy boy. My sister sent me this and it made me cry.
My brother and I loved this show, it wasn't christmas without Santa's Workshop and Toyboy! Thanks to Youtube, I can now share this wonderful show with my children. Thank you for posting this! I grew up in Wichita and I never realized it was only a Kansas thing, I was very lucky to grow up there!
@domnoyes23 Well, that would explain why friends I know who are not from Kansas had no clue about the show. I grew up in Derby and Wichita. That's to bad...it should have been enjoyed by everyone, because it was such a wonderful show.
Ahhh, yes. Loved this show. Back in the 80's it was great when it came on. I grew up in Sterling Ks, and my sister and i loved it. I cant remember the name of the guy who played Santa, but he also was the guy who had a childrens show on in the summer up in a treehouse. Good times. Toy Boy rocks.
Thanks for the post. Now i will go zoooooooommminnnnnggggg around back to work.
If anyone knows how to get more of these I'd love to know. I miss Santa and Toy Boy!
