Hey i know this viedo is now set to private but i just wanted to let you know that when i first watched this i was having a really difficult time with a horse who i was breaking and i found it incredibly inspirational and comforting that i wasn't the only one who had a difficult horse. your truly a very talented horse woman, thank you.
The clips were taken at several barns around SE Texas. If there is one you recognize, I might be able to help if you point it out or know the name (and are curious if that is indeed it).
You an absoloutley amazing lass :) You take time to learn their language instead of getting angry when they make a mistake in there journey of trying to learn ours :D Your a real good rider, but its not all about that. You actually listen to your horses, and when they get spooked you work with them. Your very patient :D And i didnt once see you use your whip there or growl or anything when they bucked. You just sat there and carried on. BIG WELL DONE =D
You said you had seen the video on someone elses account (meaning other than mine) and I was simply curious if you would provide with that information. You stated you wished to be corrected if you were wrong if the person posting the video (me) was also the rider (which I am). I did, so there is no confusion. There was no intended offence or annoyance anywhere.
pretty horses! hey my names Maddy, i have my own horse and she stays at sunrise ridding stabbels and one day i was helping the owner clean stalls. We were talking about good youtube vids lol. She said too look you up, so i did and wow your good just like chris said. :) nice vid.
Great job :) you work mericals ! lol just like me ; ) i do that same thing i HATE when people call them "Problem Horses" or "no good horse" because it is NOT the horse it's either it's [past for it is scared ! Horses know what they need to do listen to them as the Video this lovely person made ! we need more people Like us ! so help these horses that people have given up on!
my horse has done everyting on this video but she also jumps out the ring so i had to work in a round pen with really high walls until she calmed down a bit.She was like a stallion
wow what you did with those horses was amazing ...like you see people out in the world and they beat there horses when they dont do anything right but i think people can learn from u
oh wow! thats what i do!! Well, wih my family. we take in horses and then help them to heal and move forward forgetting their problemed pasts. You should message me. Maybe we could be friends too. =)
wow, when i am training my "problem" horses, i always say "there is a reason for everything, every movement, every kick, every thing". That was a thing my mom said a lot, she died from an arabian, named buddy, after she died i took on her training company thing, and now buddy is the most gentle horse you would never know he was once a wild thing. i think you did a great job at training those horses. keep it up.!
too true! well spoken, i have heard of only too many horses that were "bad horses" but all they needed was someone to understand and help them. my horse was one of these, it took me a while to understand but in the end we had the closest bond ever
wow i know what its like to have to sit bucks and rears like that as my pony likes to do that sort of stuff a lot its only coz he gets very excited but you are a really good rider and trainer and you didn't give up :) horses need more riders like that
yea thats called a confused horse and improper training from the ground up. learn how to ride/train before you get on anything again. its called lunging and respect.
I thought the video was great! reminded me of when i was young and before i had children, one day i hope to be back on the saddle soon! watching your video reminded me of my pony i had when i was younger, he was always bucking but eventually it subsided and was a wonderful riding pony, brought back lots of noglastia memories!! looking foward to more videos~ stephaniv
OhMyGawd you are an AMAZING rider! My pony I have now is so spooky, I am trying so many things. But if he gets it into his head that he wants to run, he does, an nothing makes him stop before he's ready. When he gets going to fast, he bucks sometimes too. Any Ideas for me and him??
Great job with all those horses and ponies by the way! =}
Great save on the rear, do you hve any tips to stophorses walking bakwards when u ride?My french cob mare can do full laps of the indoor backwards, and I dont know wha to do. I dont use a whip or spurs or anything.
About the whip thing. I only use the whip if my leg aid doesn't work. My riding instructor has always said that punishment is not the answer plus most of the time it's the rider that is in the wrong.
I totally respect the way you ride for it does work on the end, but one thing, At 2:43 you seemed to jank on the right rein so the horse came over. I just though that that would be wrong, incase she took fright even more or even fell or something. Its more a question, it just seems really dangerous. But anyway, it was really well saved, even still, would it of helped just to let go, instead of hanging on which could scare the horse? Just a thought.
she yanked him to the side because at that point he was high enough to fall backward, possibly landing on her and breaking his back. you always should do that if they rear that high. If their just pony rearing, then you dont have to
That particular horse has a history of flipping. She was going to flip at that moment, which is the lack of balance you see. Pulling to the side causes the horse to have to rebalance - come back down. If she were beyond help and did fall going off to the side has a lot less chance of injury for horse or rider than going straight over backwards. By doing nothing I would do more harm than good for this type of situation.
Every horse took a different length of time to get through whatever the particular issue was. Some are easy quick fixes, generally it is weeks sometimes months with serious cases. I have yet to meet any 'years' case so to speak, but you have the general idea. Each horse is an individual and so is their situation.
WOW, u r a good rider, i'm not sure if i would come off, Ive never been on a bucking horse although im in the middle of training a 12 yr old mustang i dont know what he will do, but the only time i have come off of a horse was when it was just walking and i fell asleep and fell off, lol.
A whip is an aid. It is not used for punishment. A horse with a particular problem does not always mean they are frightened. (and if they are, they are not always frightened of the same thing) I am experienced when and how to correctly use a whip. I choose which horses I use it on and no horse I have used it on has been scared of it.
Thank you!!! Horses like these need a little work, but with time and work any horse can get past anything! There is no need to abusively correct these horses. IT WON'T HELP!!?! And neither will getting rid of them!
u do extemely well to stay on the horse when it reared at 2min 45sec i would have fallen off and u really good at staying on when the horse is be naughty
omfg, some serious skill when you were doing dressage and the horse reared. I can't believe you stayed on, I was sure you were going to fall! Excellent riding, keep it up! <3
vigneault67--I know you were asking the maker of this video, but I wanted to put in my two cents :P
I was taught that it's harder for a horse to buck if it's moving forward. stopping and backing up (in my own experience) gives the horse the opportunity to bunch up under him/herself, think and then repeat the behavior. My horse bucked out of fear, so to let him go forward meant he was able to chanel his fear through positive, forward movement.
Also, most horses buck because they don't want to go, so by ignoring them, they learn that bucking doesn't get them anywhere, and they also see stopping as a reward (lots of horses who don't want to go take physical abuse well, so stopping and smacking them could be retarding your progression). That worked with me when my very lazy horse started picking up in back when I first started asking for more speed on barrels. Of course, everyone should do what they feel fits the situation.
I use Movie Maker. Alls you do is after you save it, open the video. On the taskbar you'll see, in order, Import Media, Undo, Redo, AutoMovie, and Publish Movie. A window pops up, click 'This Computer' and then Next. Fix the file name and where you want it saved to, then click Next again. On the new window, click More Settings, and find which file can be played on your computer. Then click Next. Then it'll upload and you're all set! =)
I love this video. everything you said was so true. I work with some problem horses mostly ponys because of my size. somedays the pony is scared of something and you have to take it a little slow but the next day (or the next pony) can be a ignorant jerk and you have to be a little stronger. good work I love this.
I happened upon these videos. I must say, you are a very brave, patient, and wonderfully competent rider. You make the simple problems my 5 year old mare tosses at me seem just that, simplistic. I hope you haven't been hurt in your adventures with these damaged horses, and wish you the greatest success. Best Wishes.
I Love these two videos so much... I keep watching it again and again and I am always surprised by your compassion and passion and about your way with horses... it's really what lots of us miss with horses... thank Y and keep on this way
your amazing and so is the vid!!!!!! You have to have a LOT of guts to actually get on a horse that you know will try to buck you off one way or other. amazing!!!
I see alo of people avoidaddrsingproblem horse lie that, and a lot of people who avoid addressing the problem, I think, the only way to fx a poblem, is not by ignoring it, but by addressing it, trying to bring it out, and hitting it head on. How you that isnt what matters, its that you dnt avoid it is wa mters.
Music really matched video and made me remember my awesome responsibility with young horse. Wow, what nerve and a great seat you have. I feel sorry for what these horses experienced before to become such monsters. Breathe is right on!
wow that was amazing! u go girl! u ride almost as good as i do! lol u ride so much better than i do! well...not so much...but u get wat i mean! u were awesome!
if anybody thinks she is a bad rider then u r stupid. She is an amzing rider, finding the problem in the horse and helping it. She lets the horse go at its own speed, not forcing it. she helpd me with my horse. i asked her some ?'s and now me and my horse r going perfectly. Amazing video, ive watched like 20 times.
would u lot stop giving crit! coz tbh this girls work is amazing , i bet none of yall been able to sit to tht , and these horses are misunderstood . like the video said. she doesnt have to listen to u lot u werent on that horse and u were not there so shut your gobs coz i no i would not been able to tht ! so shut up :) x
i rode a mare last summer that was rly jumpy! but i loved her to death. she was in one of her moody days my instructor was riding his gelding behind me and the mare got mad and started bucking! haha it was funny. but it was good for me to be around a jumpy horse. i usually get freaked out around them but around her i didn't...
This video is perfect to show people that horses are never bad. There is always something making them act up. As soon as you can read your horse, you'll be able to help him.
PLus I just wanted to add that I love the little dunn pony.
The others were beautiful too, but I really like pony that have a bit of attitude
i honestly think that was the only way she could have handled it for two reasons one is so that she doesnt fall off and the horse running away and secondly pulling horses into a circle throws them off balance so they wont go crazy and hurt the rider and possibly other people watching
...Wow. I noticed at 2:43, that is a huge mistake. Wrentching the poor horses mouth to the side was not the way to solve it, it could result in your horse flipping over you or him landing on his neck. I don't want to sound bossy, but that could of been handled differently.
thats what your supposed to do the horse learns not to do it and its the safest way if she hadn't done that the horse would have flipped backwards!on top of her!
I have a horse who used to be as hard to ride as most of the horses on this video, but now, after six months of hard work, most done during the summer, he is a very polished green-broke horse. So far, no jinx, he has only acted what we perceive as to be 'bad' when his saddle was pinching him. We fixed the problem and now he's our angel on four legs again.
Keep it up; people need to understand that it's not the horse wanting to be bad, it's usually our own mistake(s).
No doubt, man! I get one that will NOT walk, jig or trot are the only options...in forward gear. So I've backed headstrong horses two, three miles, until they decide that they want to go forward badly enough they will WALK forward calmly. I don't do that if-I-trot-at-walk-speed-maybe-she-won't-notice bullcrap.
Well done you! Do you use a specific training method with these horses? I like using the TTouch method and have had amazing results! The horses become much more relaxed and happy. I saw an aromatherapy demo with horses once. A lady offered a horse an oil for remebering and overcoming past traumas, it was so moving. A must see experience!
i rode a horse tht acted like the one u 1st rode in this video he threw me into a metal fence but then once i got bck on he acted perfect we went riding with a few friends he took off i clung on a pulled him in circles after tht took him to the ring lunged him and he never did it again but then we had to sell him i was soooo devastated i luved him but oh well
wow you are an amazing rider! i absolutely love this video! haha at my barn we all get wound up if our horse bucks! =P do you make all of them dressage horses?
My horse has a bad habit like that, how we start galloping her head off, and starts jerking the stem but during this up kicks with the feet of the bottom, or keep lifting up his first half. What is your opinion? what can I do for she leave this habit?
Can it be the reason for I cant riding for she every day?
Hey i know this viedo is now set to private but i just wanted to let you know that when i first watched this i was having a really difficult time with a horse who i was breaking and i found it incredibly inspirational and comforting that i wasn't the only one who had a difficult horse. your truly a very talented horse woman, thank you.

That worked with me when my very lazy horse started picking up in back when I first started asking for more speed on barrels. Of course, everyone should do what they feel fits the situation.

Converted the files?
sparrowcrazy 3 years ago

I remember your posts from HC, and I have always admired your riding. It's nice to see how many horses have benefited from you working with them. =)

Good collection of videos! Are the young ones all or is it problems with saddle, rider, bridle that makes them react the way they do???

Actually, its the same. The horse still had a chance of flipping over, tucking his neck in and falling on it.
Think about it.

Breathe is right on!

if anybody thinks she is a bad rider then u r stupid. She is an amzing rider, finding the problem in the horse and helping it. She lets the horse go at its own speed, not forcing it. she helpd me with my horse. i asked her some ?'s and now me and my horse r going perfectly. Amazing video, ive watched like 20 times.

i rode a mare last summer that was rly jumpy! but i loved her to death. she was in one of her moody days my instructor was riding his gelding behind me and the mare got mad and started bucking! haha it was funny. but it was good for me to be around a jumpy horse. i usually get freaked out around them but around her i didn't...
horsejumpa101 3 years ago
she needs to put her hands down when it acts up :L:LX
amsweetyournot 3 years ago
This video is perfect to show people that horses are never bad. There is always something making them act up. As soon as you can read your horse, you'll be able to help him.
PLus I just wanted to add that I love the little dunn pony.
The others were beautiful too, but I really like pony that have a bit of attitude
:)
Keep up the good work

I enjoyed this,It shows what time, patience, and tlc can do.Also love the song :)
RainbowCloudDust 3 years ago
i honestly think that was the only way she could have handled it for two reasons one is so that she doesnt fall off and the horse running away and secondly pulling horses into a circle throws them off balance so they wont go crazy and hurt the rider and possibly other people watching
marissacalliekatie 3 years ago
...Wow. I noticed at 2:43, that is a huge mistake. Wrentching the poor horses mouth to the side was not the way to solve it, it could result in your horse flipping over you or him landing on his neck. I don't want to sound bossy, but that could of been handled differently.
HuntrJumprEQ4 3 years ago
I know what you mean but i dont think she could help it.
Horseylover118 3 years ago
If she hadn't done that he would have flipped over on her.
HorseListening 3 years ago
thats what your supposed to do the horse learns not to do it and its the safest way if she hadn't done that the horse would have flipped backwards!on top of her!

I love the part where you back his ass up thats what i do and it works.. haha.

No doubt, man! I get one that will NOT walk, jig or trot are the only options...in forward gear. So I've backed headstrong horses two, three miles, until they decide that they want to go forward badly enough they will WALK forward calmly. I don't do that if-I-trot-at-walk-speed-maybe-she-won't-notice bullcrap.
bbbask 3 years ago
haha! ya i totally agree with you ALLLLLL the way. if its not gunna go forward, its sure a hell goin backward!

NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP, your horse will trust you and respect you.

My horse has a bad habit like that, how we start galloping her head off, and starts jerking the stem but during this up kicks with the feet of the bottom, or keep lifting up his first half. What is your opinion? what can I do for she leave this habit?
Can it be the reason for I cant riding for she every day?
