My prayers are with you, 8yrs. ago I lost my grandfather and two weeks later my father. I was pissed for losing both of 'em but I'll always remember what my fathers last words he told me "Dying is the easy part, living is the hard part" and to this day I will always keep that in my mind and heart cause as life goes by people in our life will die it can happen within a blink of an eye. Remember the good times along with the bad, don't be sad you'll see them again but until then be strong for them
Oh noes :( How awful for you, I can relate to you, as I've lost lots of people who lived amazing lives and I can't breathe when I think about one in particular. And I lost a best friend, she didn't die, but she moved to the other side of the world and I'll never see her again. So I'll go hug a random person and pretend it's you. That sounded creepy. Your uncle loves you very much. I believe that when we die, our eyes are cleared, minds opened, and the truth is laid out before us. I think he knows your regret and your sadness, but he also knows your love, and love is what truly matters, what truly lasts. Forgiving yourself is the most important thing you can do, and it is what he wants for you. When you love someone, you never part; this transcends even death. If you believe it to be so, you will see each other again. :)

And not to take up all this space, but I cried a lot because I couldn't say goodbye. That's a horrible feeling. But after his death, it really made me think about how I treat my loved ones. Sometimes you can't say goodbye, and if today is your last day or theirs, do you really want hold a grudge? Unlikely.
@MrsRaquelPerez -I'm really really sorry about your uncle and i agree with everything you said 100%. I can't lie, I held a huge grudge on my uncle before he died, and I don't blame your family for doing the same thing. At the end of the day, we're human. situations affect us because we have emotions. I'm not proud of holding a grudge against my uncle before he passed away, and it's a mistake that I learned to accept.. (part 1)

@teenywhispers These are things we add to our experience. I didn't visit my uncle one weekend because I was too lazy, thinking I would see him the next. Guess what? He passed away that evening. Now, when i have the chance to see anyone I know is gravely ill like he was, I take my opportunities. I felt guilty for years, but I let it teach me a lesson.
I have a similar experience. My uncle was dignosed with Phase 4 cancer. He found out about it after it had spread throughout his body. He was dignosed in Feb, and died a month later in March. He also had some really deep, dark secrets. On the one hand, the family was disgusted with him too, but we all mourned him too at the same time. It's only when you get close to death that you realize how utterly ugly it is for us. And while it is "normal", it seems rather unnormal for us who still live.
am sorry for your loss even tho its been three years the pain is still the same..i lost my uncle in September 29th 2010 he was murdered and it was so hard for all of us he was the back bone of the family and once he passed away we also found out he was cheating on my aunt and had a baby girl with another woman

I know i didn't know your uncle, but, I want you to close your eyes, and think of your favorite memory you had with him.
