Singapore is ready for her first female Singapore idol this season after Taufik (Season 1 winner), Hady Mirza (Season 2 winner). Congratulations to all! We ought to from start that this show based on popularity and appeal rather than singing capabilities. Hady won not by Singapore's population vote.

That's the reason the voting criteria was to pick 2 choice. If it's going to be just one, I guess the most populated country would win hands down.

Hady didn't try to sing like U2's singer, Bono. He just sang his own style. Mmm... that is a sign of a good performer and not another U2 wannabe. Even on the highest note Hady was very relaxed. He made 'Beautiful Day' sounded like his own. More importantly, he didn't need to try too hard to impress. All he did was to sound honestly as himself. He didn't care of the sopranos of the competition. What he did was simple... just sing. Yes, to be precise sing sincerely... that is a true performer.

I was like, "Ohh my gosshhh..! Why did he sing that song? It doesn't suit him." Hady is a natural on stage. Just look at him go! His stage presence and confidence is amazing. I honestly don't think any of the other idol contestants could work the mikestand like he did. And Beautiful Day IS a really hard song to sing, which shows Hady dared to venture out of his comfort zone. He also changed the arrangement of the song and gave it a more R&B/soft-rock feel, perhaps people weren't used to hearing this arrangement for a rock song.

But comparing Kurt and Hady, Kurt sang much better than Hady.

To contradict that, Kurt rendition of the song is around 2 minutes while Hady sang the WHOLE song. So it must be quite tiring for Hady to sing it as the song is quite hard and need much energy though. hehh. -_-
