  • All are much better than the Italian version.

I'm italian, and I don't like how they sing his song.

  • i don't know thai but i know the wordss of by heart

  • @XoXEmoGirlyXoX wow inmpressive

  • I am proud to be half Thai. Hey, at least I understood it!

  • imagine three score of mounted men attacking a stronghold held by thousands of orcs...waaaaaay brave

  • this was easily one of the best scenes of the entire film.

  • Whow the Spirit oO

  • amazing language beautiful to sing it in

  • aww great <3

  • LOLLOLL foreign countriess haha

  • hahahahahaha

  • i dont understand thai but its very nice! this song brings me at the edge of crying :')

  • LOL

  • wow its not as sad as i thought really

  • @TheIfifi Really? They will fight for a lost battle knowing this.

  • @CesarTakezoNomura1. Oh come on ! Those knights of Gondor were willing to fight for a cause they believed in and die fighting if necessary. That's noble and brave even if it may be misguided.Tolkien knew about this kind of heroism having been a young officer on the Western Front in WW1 so I'm not surprised it's in his greatest novel. The battle of Helm's Deep is even thought to be a tribute to the bravery of his own men in WW1.

  • Pretty! It looks like the translation did a great job of balancing the rhythm, rhyming, lip-syncing, AND the meaning. No small feat!

  • saaaaadddddd :(

  • lol.

  • much better in english but this is really funny xD

  • pippin «3

  • I liked it.

  • I used to know zero words in Thai. Now I can sing an entire song. It's such a beautiful sounding language - exotic, mysterious, and flowing. I can't wait to learn more of it.

  • The steward of Gondor is so stupid because it's an impossibility to win the city back

  • what a nerd

  • f off retard, I got a life if that makes you happy to hear. sorry I can't live up to your standards. just because I like this movie does not make me a nerd. Also getting good grads does not make me a nerd. I play football and baseball if that makes you happy also to hear

  • Beautiful song!:D Goes perfectly in the movie scene. :)

  • the one who made this song... was billy boyd himself!! he was told he had to make a pretty short song within 2 days! and he made this...

the reason he sings this is becuz he was at a karoke... and they heard him sing good...

  • song reminds me a bit of belfast child by simple minds ;)

  • Hey I hate Denethor ...is like my "rehtaf"...so by the way is a sad song

  • Seeing this piques my interest in knowing what the Far East actually thinks of the LOTR trilogy: a fantasy based on Western mythology. Is there anyone who might be able to give me an idea on how they were received in e.g. Thailand, China, Japan etc.?

  • Well Ereldor, I know that in Japan it was absolutely loved. There are a ton of fans there now that didn't know anything about LotR until then. When RotK opened in Tokyo theaters the crowds there were insane. I don't know about China or Thailand though.

  • WTF

  • this makes it sound kind of like elvish a little bit

  • can someone tell me where i can find the lyrics in english to this please? this is such a lovely song tbh...this is a powerful part of LOTR and is 1 of my fav parts, wud mean alot, cheers :P

  • "home is behind, the world ahead.

there are many paths to tread.

through shadow, to the edge of night,

until the stars are all alight.

mist and shadow, cloud and shade,

all shall fade, all shall fade."

it's one of my favorite parts too!

  • aww cheers m8, also just recently found its in the fellowship book, but changed slightly XP

  • who wrote this poem?

  • Tolkien wrote it, though it was changed and set into music for the movie, by Billy Boyd (who plays Pippin), I believe.

  • thank you for sharing this beautiful writing and the info.

  • THE MIGHTY TOLKIEN!!... WTHMF...

  • the American version is so much better

  • There is no "American" version. It was produced, written, and filmed in New Zealand and sung by a Brit.

  • Doliath

sung by a Scot, not a brit

  • Scotland is a constituent nation of Great Britain. Therefore, the adjective "Brit" is applicable to Scots just as much as it is to the English and the Welsh.

  • im scottish and calling us brits is an insult we never chose to be brits just for future refrence

  • Great Britain is an island. Scotland is on that island.

Whatever, I'm not going to get into a pointless debate over petty nationalistic disputes.

  • Not for much longer buddy. G'wan the Scots! A soon to be free nation!

  • A Scot is a Brit.

  • really? he sounds irish or scottish in the normal version.

  • it's scottish

  • american is NOT a language english is. so the english version is better.

  • u mean english right?

  • WTH ?! that version is weird !

  • Great!

  • The translation isn't what he sings in the english version fyi...

  • I hum it to myself all the time :D one of the songs i keep annoying people with xD

  • wow...... right on!

  • this sound is THai language... i understand it well :) sad but true ... nice meaning.. and i loves its ...

  • I love it! Do you know who is doing the singing in this version?

  • Jesus! After finding the clip I want after searching through 10 minutes of Covers, i find it and its in fucking Thai!

  • It's not Chinese... it's Thai... please at least look at the description and get it right. *rolls eyes* I personally love it. The voice is as good as Billy Boyd's.

  • I love this song! It's so pretty!

  • god fatty, have some more chicken fatass.XD

  • and i just realized it was in Thai O.O sorry :|

  • wth is your problem? don't you realize this film could have even POSSIBLY played in other countries besides USA? They have their own language ya know.

  • whoa. wow. thai is SUCH a beautiful language. they say french is a beautiful language, but aren't all languages beautiful and interesting? i've never really heard thai before, and i think it's lovely. listening to this made me want to learn it, somehow. it's really nice to hear pippin's song in a new way, i like the german version as well. anyone know of any others here on youtube? please & thank you! :D

  • omgoodness!it was so beautiful! just so you know i waved it and downloaded and all that stuff and itss on my ipod!i hope you dont mind^_^!

  • CORRECT LYRICS: Home is behind The world ahead And there are many paths to tread Through shadow To the edge of night Until the stars are all alight Mist and shadow Cloud and shade All shall fade All shall fade
  • I thought this was going to be terrible, but I actually really like it! Nice translation as well, not quite the same feeling as the original, but still beautiful and very appropriate for the situation.

  • um dude have you watched to movie this is from it i mean watch the movie before saying it he does sing it like this its a clip from the movie its just in a differnt fucking language think before you speak

  • its very pretty and it still fits with the music

  • "No matter how thick the fog and clouds will be

There will be a day when they are all gone"

    Awesome.

  • This version is terrible. Billy Boyd did a fantastic job.

  • ..of course billy boyd did an awesome job, missaestheticashley. but so did the person who sang the thai version. if, in your opinion, he did not, why leave a nasty comment about it?

  • OMG WHO'S SINGING ?

  • Fuck you WfedExW :)

  • GREAT! I like this version more than the english one x3 but check out the german!^^

  • that was really cool nicer than the english version, i think.
