  • What a joke this video is considering the ski nazi gutted TWA when they took it over in 2001.

  • what is the name of the song and artist

  • You know it's weird that that number one question asked (what's the song called?) has not been answered!

Can anyone answer it?! I want to know to.

  • my dad was goeing to be a pilot for twa on the dc-9 but beacuse of the twa and aa merger they took the job away, my dad does not like aa evean my mom worked for aa

  • who is the singer and the song?

  • Does anyone know what the song is they play and who it is by?

  • Codeshares are OK for a while but mergers like these are HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE!

TWA shoulda take AA down instead.

  • I'll miss TWA

  • Whoever hired that singer should be FIRED. Stupid lyrics.

  • Its a good song, but not appropriate for this video.

  • @flyusair Yeah, the post 9/11 Enya-like song was better.

  • AA is disapointing. They could have used and kept the STL hub to there advantage. STL has no LHR, SJU, CDG, HNL flights which they could support. BDL has SJU flights, and STL doesn't, is shameful.

What is this song called, I love it!

  • @flyusair ORD was expanded, so AA decided it had no need for STL.

  • Part of what happened was when AA bought TWA (I am NOT defending AA's move) was in around 2000 (This was in UA's summer of Pilot CHAOS) Chicago was at the bursting points, flights were canceled left and right to the point where the Airport Authority was setting up cots everything in the Luggage Claim. So at the time did it make sense? Yes but if AA was smart they would have backed out of it after 9/11.

  • @CubsFanJohn Yep - back then ORD was bursting at the seams - ORD was expanded later

  • I remember those days my Dad who flew a lot for work then (Not a pilot or a FA) and I remember he was often late due to the mess. Though even if 9/11 didn't happen I still think eventually STL would have been drawn down. They would have cut several routes out of St. Louis especially the International Stuff maybe expect LGW and that route would have moved to LHR most likely. CDG I think was Seasonal at the end, HNL would have most likely not been replaced but the plane used to Europe.

  • what is this song called?

  • To the world a MERGER, in house, ACQUISITION! AMR/AA wanted routes & landing rights! CEO W.F.Compton finished what CEO Carl Icahn started, the sell out of TWA! The Unions TW/IAM & AA/APFA, despicable! TW personal was put in the bottom of the AA Seniority List, they used 9/11 to furlough them, AA by over working their ranks for over 5 years was able to over lap the recall rights of TW, out of 18,000 employees today less than 3,000 remain active! Merge?, You figure it out! AMR/AA is NO GOOD!

  • Thanks for the agreeing lol. My dad was a TWA pilot from 1990 through the end, and is currently an A320 F/O at JetBlue. He never made it to TWA Captain, but he did get to be a pretty senior F/O on the 757/767. AMR/the merger destroyed his career-no one at age 55 with14,000hrs of flying should be an A320 F/O...He deserves to be at least an MD-80 Captain (at TWA--he was only 4 months away from upgrade, and that was in 2002), if not higher, like 757/767...

  • To tomcatpilot1.. I was at TW from1976/1987, left during the strike, when to Brasil TR(Trans*Brasil) B737-300 /B767-200 / B-767-300 I was with them until they folded in 2000! AMR/AA sold a merger and deliver an acquisition! The TW employees, at the bottom of the AA seniority list, agreed by TW/AIM & AA/APFA despicable! After 9/11, furloughs for all. AA by overworking their ranks for over 5 years, BINGO! TW personal looses recall rights! Today out of 18,000 TW, 3,000 remain employed, DON'T FLY AA

  • I had the chances hte flew in both airlines and i never had inconvinience with any AA/TWA Employee.I love AA, but this merger was no good for TWA.

This thing could sound funny but i had a lot of friends that they lost there jobs after the merger.

    2 great airlines, 1great future

    TWA:Totally Wasted by American.

  • is this the whole video? could you post the entire video please? thanks!

  • The whole thing is like 12 mins long, and goes into the history of TWA...maybe I will when I get a chance.

  • That sounds awesome! I never really got to know TWA, i only flew them one time, and I barely remember it... It would be awesome if you could post the video when you have time!

  • Yeah, I heard about im, but I don't know completely how Ichan helped to de bankrupt of TWA

  • He's a coporate raider...H buys companies and legally destroys them. He got contorl of TWA in the 80s, and began selling their most profitable routes (STL, JFK, LAX, SFO, PHL, BWI to Heathrow) and many others. Eventually TW couldn't make a profit. By the time Compton came in and tried to turn things aorund, it was too late. During his time, TWA ordered 125 new 767s, 757s, and 717s, and began retiring the old 747s and 727s and L-1011s, but TW could not recover from Ichan.

  • This video makes me cry... TWA is still (in our hearts) an Excellent airline... Feel the freedom to fly!... TWA= We're up to something good.

  • Thank you...I agree. My dad flew for them since 1990 and was furloughed in 2003 by AA after rising to 757/767 F/O, just about to become Captain.... God damn AmericanAirlines, and Carl Ichan (especially him).
