there's a little mistake here. the one shown is a bumperless version, before st vincent's batch. and the best of all production are from Belgium (in this commercial), manufactured by Donnay. Incredible feeling, very harsh.
the Donnay Pro Cynetic 1 is even impressive! (Sampras played it, loved it and asked his pro staff to play like the Donnay. The only reason he didn't signed at that time with Donnay was he wanted a american brand.)
Remember that this was a huge upgrade from the wood/aluminum racquets which were the predominant type of stick at the time. 12.5oz compared to 13-14oz IS light. Add the 85" headsize and the thing seemed like a rocket launcher. Compared to racquets nowadays (and especially strings) no it isn't light or very powerful.
did he say "its light with incredible power"? lol last time I played with this one it's heavy and low powered.... im not saying that its not good but it's definitely a low-powered thinggy! ^_^
yea back in the day ppl used heavy racquets to handle slower paced balls. so i really wonder how strong the pros wrists are today. thier like using 11 oz racquets to handle balls that go liek 130+ mph
Yeah, the Conners-designed original Pro Staff was awesome... fantastic control... greatest SOLID FEEL I've ever felt in a racquet. BTW, the pros used this racquet way back when... in fact at one point the 3 top-ranked players in the world were using this racquet in the early '90s (Edberg, Courier and Sampras).
The model was discontinued and I had to switch to the ProStaff Classic which also was great, but with more power.
One of the greatest Racquet ever, along with the Prince original graphite, Dunlop max 200 g, Rossignol f200, the Mizuno-bosworth lendl, and the Volkl T9. Talking about the non-Woodies racquets
light huh? man i've been playing with the K blade tour which is moderately heavy and i tried my friend's ps 85 man i sucked cuz of the swingweight and headsize when I played against hardhitters and started the fast rallies i started shanking! hehe anyways it looks nice^^
Actually He did, but for a very short time. He used it at the 1984 U.S. Open. but by the time Wimbledon 1985 rolled around, he had already switched back to his old T2000.

Those rackets are a collector's item. I saw a brand new one on ebay for three grand!! Great racket, but not that great.

@tolendoi123 Well, when you compare it to his T-2000, I would tend to agree with him, lol...

Ironic that Connors ended up not liking a racquet that was designed for him.
You would think that the PS Orig 85 would have been a bust, but ended up as the raqcuet of choice fot the top pros on the ATP and WTA!
