What did ya record this on wisa dudette? Its almost got the sound of being recorded onto analogue tape? Its got the analogue hiss and slight mid range warble around the 1-2khz band (boosted maybe?) and general distortion i would expect of an analogue tape. Don't get me wrong its decent. Composition wise its excellent! It just lacks a bit of clarity/crispness.
She needs to get some decent equipment either loaned or bought. I hope someone can lend her some gear man, shes got the raw talent to do well for sure.
And after listening to the original, the bassline is..wow. Diminished 7th in the second measure (then resolving to the minor for the chorus) makes the whole song feel...well it makes the song. I know very little about guitar chords but I assume that's the same thing you're doing in a way.
