  • Wow. It redlines at under 6000 rpm. Unbelievable!

  • @liddlebopeep It redlines at 6k stock. With the upper valvetrain upgrade it safely revs to 6500, but because of the big torque curve, it actually delivers more power shifting sooner. Even so, the HP peak has raised up to 5800 from the stock 5300.

  • I would love to do the SC 3800 Series II swap into my Cutlass Ciera. I would be very Happy with it.

  • Very fast! Sound good!

  • question for you vanwise: Can you view PSI Boost in the dash on the Riviera like you can in the Regal's Driver info center?

  • my grandmother has a riv go to justgoincrazy to see it

  • love the dashboard

  • imagine that in a early 90's z24

  • I have a Riv too, wondering what the deal is with running in in 3rd?

  • @greenmachine12r I often race in 3rd as it helps slow the car down from high speed. In this video, the engine was in 2nd gear up to 95 mph, so never shifted into 3rd until I let off the gas at the end. Can do the same thing in OD, no problem.

  • That is sickly fast. nice video.

  • Is this l67 modded or stock ??!! Fast

  • @jimbo77769 Thx. Basic bolt-on mods and PCM tuning, stock internals. Modded between 35k-80k miles, now with 210k miles.

  • I love the 3.8 engine whine.

  • 3000 rpm is like Vtec on a 3800.when you kick them at first its like taking in a deep breath and then screaming as loud as you can for like 4 sec.then repeat.i love the whine of the 3800 too.even N/A

  • @rockerdude29 Agreed, with the 1.9:1 rockers, it really picks up in the upper RPMs, although I notice it really gets moving about 4000 RPM on my car.

  • Does Rivs have proformance shift like regal gs has and can you take off traction control?

  • @Pre5tig3 Rivieras don't have a PerfShift button like the Regal, but I reprogrammed the PCM for even higher shift points, firmer shift pressures, and less torque management. The result is a shift program that makes OEM "performance shift" seem like a joke. The beauty of it is, no button - it activates automatically.

  • @vanwiseman howd you reprogram yours ?

  • @dmspit I used DHP PowrTuner software to reprogram my shift points and pressures to be more aggressive than PerfShift on GTP or Regal GS, especially under hard throttle. Under easy throttle, shifts are firm, but not overly aggressive.

  • @Pre5tig3 By the way, you can take tracition control off.

  • you can hear the supercharger wine

  • damn fast

  • I miss my 3.8 :(

  • I like the engine whine/harmony about 0:09 - 0:11

  • I totally agree! Normally wouldn't say a 3800 sounds "good", but the blower adds something - if you keep the exhaust sound under control.

  • @rudolphna54 I know,

it gave me goosebumps! my L67 lumina

    doesn't even sound this nice!

  • i want a Riviera so freaking bad

  • my supercharger doesn't whine like that, not that loud at least. is it because of the pully?

  • What kind of intake are you running?

  • stock. guess i didn't think of that before.

  • It's not really stock. The whine is from a custom fenderwell intake, and the 3.4" SC pulley gives it a higher pitch.

  • Intake: 3.5" stainless custom welded, K&N cone in the fenderwell.

  • Hey, would you know why my Supercharged Riv doesn't 'whistle' when Im flooring it? I want to hear it scream, but I get nothing?? Its weird. Its a 95 btw. Id appreciate what you can tell me if you can...Thanks man..

  • Well, there are a couple of reasons you don't hear the blower wine. Buick built these cars to be quiet and powerful, not loud and obnoxious. The intake tube and airbox are designed to trap the "noise". I use a custom made intake tube leading straight into the fender well, attached to a K&N cone filter. The result is a LOT of blower wine. Also, I use a smaller blower pulley for extra power and increased pitch. Visit the website listed at top (info) for more on this topic. Thx!

  • That's kinda slow for a supercharged car

  • Rivieras weigh 4000 pounds. Its the heaviest of the Supercharged 3800s I beleive

  • Still a nice car man

  • go back to playing need for speed you stupid faggot

  • The fuck is wrong with you?

  • because you made a stupid comment that says "hurr hurr your car is slow for being supercharged"

let me make another comment, "hurr hurr that 6000 pound rolls is pretty slow for having a v12"

    hurrrrrr

  • it wasn't an insult maybe you sho8uld read the message after that

  • Maybe not "fast", but high 13s in the 1/4 isn't what I call slow. 35+ MPG on the highway too.

  • That's awesome my dad's meredes 190 does low 14's and pulls 40MPG on the freeway, i can appreciate a car that is powerful and still is fuel economic

  • I could see high 13s out of this car. I have similar mods to this car, plus a few more and I weigh less, and my car is capible of 13 flat, 12's with some slicks.

  • Visit Dragtimes and you will see video of me drag racing at Norwalk, and the time sheet proving a 13.9 at 99.3 mph. Is that enough embellishment for ya?

  • @MrHotrodlincoln I ran high 13s with less mods than him you fucking retard. Why do you continue to spew absolute bull shit mrhotrodlincoln? You don't even know anything about cars at all stop posting up bull shit. Watch my video and see my high 13 second runs supercharged, the videos from when you were still suckin on your moms tit faggot.

  • @MrHotrodlincoln

I watched your car vids of your Lincoln. Yes I liked your car, it's fast. But OUR Rivs will give your Lincoln and a 5.7L Charger a good run for its money. Try smack talking a modded GTP and see where it gets you.

  • @vanwiseman Maybe not "fast", but high 13s in the 1/4 isn't what I call slow. 35+ MPG on the highway too

Got to love the bypass valve

  • 0-60 in 5? wow, thats impressive man.

And it sounds awesome by the way.

  • Closer to 6 secs on the street, but I'm not complaining. My best is 5.78 once at the track.

  • is this car stock? if not wat mods do you have?

  • fenderwell intake, 3.4" blower pulley, high ratio roller rockers, stainless headers, stock cam & exhaust. Custom PCM tune, and a few suspension mods to keep her on the road.

  • gotta love the supercharger whine

  • Beautiful. Sounds great too.

  • @sirbuick ha! Just found this again, about to buy a GTP and thought I'd look up a few to appreciate what I'm about to own lol :D

  • nice clean buick...gotta love them buicks bra

  • ill have to say that it's different seeing the speedo and tach so far away, but i kinda like it, gives it charachter!

  • i think they should have put a boost gauge in the regalgs/riviera/gtp....my buddy's 04 impala ss has a boost gauge and i always thought it was cool to look at

  • The GS/GTP have a boost guage, it's part of the driver info center. But the Riv does not have one... that's why we mod!!!

  • very true

  • There actually is a boost gauge in these cars, but it's off to the right. It's a 6 gauge cluster and the meter is to the right.

  • oic

  • Wrong, No Riviera ever had a boost gauge to date.

  • nice video.

  • is that 95 MPH in second gear?? I own a 97' myself and love it but knew that woudl happen the power I added. I always had the thought of a tranny swap in my mind. I woudl want at least 5 speed. Imagine the 0-60 improvment.

  • Yep. It'll do 100 mph crossing the 1/4 mile in high 13s, all in 2nd gear. I'm still on stock tranny at 145k miles, and this car makes over 300hp. 0-60 comes in 5.7 secs as is; I wasn't at full throttle until 50mph in the vid. Come visit the Riviera Performance board at w w w.rivperformance.c o m

  • I know this reply is 5 months old but I'm way behind on my inbox. Have had some health issues. Anyhow, I'm already a member thre even when you wrote this!

  • Cool! See you round, CeeStyle!

  • nice

  • That IS stupid quick. Now imagine that engine in a car that could go to a track and actually stay on the tarmac...

  • For weighing 4087 lbs, the car handles very well. Fresh KYB GR-2 struts up front, Monroe Max-Airs in rear, front/rear Addco stabi-bars & poly bushings. FireHawk Wide Ovals all around. I'll post some autocross vids next year. :)

  • 4087? are you considering full tank of gas and yourself because Riv's weigh from around 3690-3788

  • I'm considering a 1/4 tank of gas, the jack and spare tire, and my 300 watt stereo system. That's what the scale said with me in the car.

  • @Alshtabrann Check my other videos, autocross vids are up!!!

    htt p://ww w.youtube.co m/watch?v=Tj1Wt4BTTYs

  • love it check out my regal, 3800 supercharged ftw!!!

  • Hell YEah. Own a 97' Myself

  • i wonder how hard it would be to bolt a super on a 3800 series 1 engine

  • they come stock
