@blackwhimsy I've had this laptop for a long time, now. never had any neck problems, it did start getting hot recently but after a clean inside it's cool as a cucumber, with the cpu temp never really getting over 55. if you want a laptop to sit on your lap and be at eye level though... its gonna need a 2 foot screen...

@nodstradamus Actually, I could play Crysis 2 on the Gamer (High) and I think even on Advanced (Very High). The problem is though, it gets really hot and slows down when playing. It's because the fan is clogged with dust.

Ive only seen one color scheme, the color is kind of coper and changes in different lighting from dark brown to orange, the blue writing is trom blue lighting

It can run Crysis no problem with shaders and shadows at medium so it can run UT3 at hight settings.

4 years? I would say applications will have no problem at all but for 3D Games, probably it'll only last for 2 years.

Hard to describe since I've never seen a perfect laptop screens on any brand compare to HDTV or desktop LCD.

G50V is the 2nd best on Asus, if you like glossy display then it's beautiful screen and if you like matte screen then it's too glossy for you, some people said it's like half mirror and half LCD.

Personally I like glossy screen better.

QX9300 are designed to work with PM45 chipset so it will work.

Partially incorrect, it is also a function of the BIOS to 'approve' the CPU, I don't know if it is by serial #, whatever Identification code the BIOS uses to identify the CPU, not all are always supported. I know I'm being vague, but that is because I would think like you have. But apparently, a laptop with the same chipset (montevina) - the Gateway 7811fx did or does not have the BIOS support for a quad core... I haven't seen one thread of any attempt at putting a quad core in this laptop.

I wasnt in the market for a gaming laptop, but this caught my eye it doesnt seem like you can beat it for the price, however How well do the games play (i'd probally only play steam games)?

It's running pretty cool, GPU 75*C max.

The GPU is 9800M GS 512MB GDDR3, the game play is similar to the G71g (see my other video), no problem at all for steam games.
