Avevo sentito parlare di questa messinscena, ma vedendola mi accorgo che è al di sotto di ogni decenza. Più in basso il teatro di regia moderno non può andare, si può solo sperare che risalga la china. In quanto al cantante che interpreta (male) il commendatore è il basso russo che ha cantato Boris con Abbado, Anatoly Kocherga. Meglio continui a cantare il repertorio russo come Boris nella LADY di Shostakovitch alla SCALA (2007)

Ha, I get it. "Don" Giovanni... Cleaver, however, like norcalrobbie2 says, the plot realy falls appart when you apply it to a modern situation like this one.

Good idea though, I'd pay to see it. Its always great to see a different interpretation of an old act.

Calixto Bieito bastardized the opera, IMHO. His direction totally messes with the philosophy behind the whole thing... as well as open up HUGE plot holes that anyone who knows the story well will recognize. The direction and the libretto do not match up at all. The performers are great though.
