The guitar is his personal way of learning the song. and playing is a way for him to sing it well. It's a professional thing, you probably wouldn't understand.

Actualy its not even proffesional, its quite common, thats why you see so many new bands where everyone has an instrument: no one seems to be able to keep time without one. though in the case of this song, it would be nice if you could hear the guitar, though a classicle would work better then the acoustic that he is using.
