I Guess that would depend on what your sister refers to herself as. My Girlfriend is the exact same! Scottish parents, raised in Scotland, born in London and she refers to herself as Scottish so I go with that. Would I refer to Big Country as a Scottish band? yes and no. The sound of the band could be labeled 'Scottish' but even then i think that label only describes one element of a truely exceptional band.

If your heart is Welsh who cares where your arse is from?" I guess if your heart is Scottish the same applies.

Well that is one viewpoint, a rather modernist viewpoint albeit. This derives from a kind of relativistic view of reality - the idea that anyone can be what they want to be.
