OMG, it must be so stressful for the poor animal :( I know it's asleep, but don't tell me it doesn't feel anything :( But I know that Stephen wouldn't hurt a fly, so perhaps he knows better.
Reminds me of those "abducted by aliens" testimonies ... no-one will believe the poor rhino. "Seriously, there's a big chunk of my ear missing, and I had bruises all over..."
great video I am not asking for that much I am just asking please save animals in dangerous of extinction some animals look dangerous that does not mean we have to kill them **********************************************
It looks a bit bad and a constant reminder is needed to understand that it's for the good of them, but it's so wonderful people are doing that. Anyway, I still don't really understand why they take the ear notch out.
It's great to see people dedicated to our wildlife. And thanks Stephen for doing this program. Can't wait for it.
With regards to the ear notch, it's to help them identify this particular rhino; I think the notches are made according to a particular scheme or pattern at the time of immobilisation. Works better than tags, as the latter would probably be lost or torn off, is inexpensive, and more visible from a distance.
Fascinating. Thanks for these videos and the regular twitter updates. With so many people involved it seems chaotic, but I'm sure they all know and care what they're doing. Great stuff. - Ahh, the famous ear notch from Twitter :)
Does anyone know when this airs on TV?
Can't wait, I loved Stephen Fry in America, I think he's brilliant, lol :P
