The air flow is not across the combustion chamber, it uses an odd combined intake and exhaust manifold. This is really because it was designed as a boat engine. Not a 4 cylinder Offy. It is a 30 cc. "Sea Lion" designed as a boat engine by Edgar Westbury. It has an overhead camshaft with unusual rocker arms at almost 90 degrees.
