Very nice build sir. Please come along to my new facebook page 'Galactica Models' and feel free to post some pictures of your great work, everybodys welcome regardless of project or ability.
I ended up painting on the stripes and leaving off the vertical engine stripe, I took some heat already for that and should of gone with 3 white lights instead of the 2 red, would of been more scale, still going to add the decal in the cock pit over the green led. nice job and video on yours thanks again for posting. Jeff
just got mine done,,,,,, worked on it about 12 hrs, still need to mount the kit base to a wooden base and add a switch for the lights................. i like it !!!!
@4apples The fit is like tamiya for the most part. It is very impressive. However like all models I still filled and sanded all the gaps that are not meant to be there. Only thing that really needed a small bit of extra work was the cockpit glass to body gap. I had to do a bit more sanding there to get that perfect fit. The major issue with the model is the decals. I'm sure others here can talk more about that.
This kit is a beauty. The attention to detail is amazing. You can leave it in pristine ('new') condition or with battle damage. Even the bottom of the box (hanger picture) can be included in a diorama
I am busy with my kit, I don't know if I got a dud out of the batch but my kit was a nightmare in fit. I had to do a Lot of seamwork. But I think the work will be worth it.
VERY nice job with this kit. excellent modelling and painting. I used to be a professional model maker myself so, I know good quality work when I see it. :)
Great job and excellent post. I JUST completed my Viper- the same kit. My personal experience= the decals were awful especially the extensive (large) red stripes. The smaller ones were OK but silvered immmediatly. I shot the red stripes but the decals for the flight insignia disappeared as soon as I applied them. You did an outstanding job on the pilot, though the physiology suggests it can only be Apollo (ie not 'Kara Thrace') Otherwise the kit is very well engineered, great kit - recommended
Nice job! I just received 2 of these for Christmas (1 to build and 1 to keep mint in box). I've never built a model before, so I'm glad this will be my first, as the Viper Mk II is my favourite from any TV/Movie series.
@BattlestarGroup75 I don't recommend doing this as your first model, there is a high chance you'll ruin it. I ruined my first few models. Good luck let me know how it turns out.

I have always liked the look of the mark 2 better than the mark 7. It has that classy feel that a 67 fastback has you know.
