HP Compaq 8510w KA455UT Laptop

Just picked up two of these from ebay for $340 total. $170 each. WUXGA screen, 1920x1200.

This video has so many inaccuracies. The HD activity is near the edge not next to the screen. Also the display in the video looks more like WUXGA than 1680x1050, though it does come with that config as well.

That's not a battery charger port underneath. It is only for connecting an extra battery.

This laptop can game just about as well as a system with a GeForce 8600M GT. It is GDDR3 video memory which helps a lot.

I don't know why this guy keeps saying that this notebook is only for business, simply because it's from the business range. I have the 8710P version of this laptop (17" etc), and I use it as a gaming laptop. Better put, BUSINESS notebooks are better built than the flimsy laptops you buy from a retail store which break after one year of use. And on another note, I think this laptop looks sexy!

I completely agree with you Kataroku, which is why I just ordered this (the KA456UA model) from HP after a ton of research. I am a personal user but more geared towards multi-tasking (10+ windows open at a time for programming/web development for school and business) but also wanted to be able to do some gaming. The design isn't flashy so doing work with clients I can hide my gaming obsession and get down to business. And a matte screen topped it all off for me. I hope it meets my expectations.

Go for 6 GB RAM because DDR3 comes in tripple channel. So 3x 2GB or 3x 4GB would be fine.
