Don't you think that animated Galactus would just look kinda cheesy, childish and over-the-top? That cloud thing was the right choice imo. It symbolised what it was meant to symbolise. The movie wasn't supposed to be focused on Galactus. He was just introduced as a concept to give some meaning to Silver Surfer. Besides the script would have to be more complex to explain to the mass audience what the hell is that all about with some giant guy in purple helmet. Pretty pointless for some John Smith

It's not happening. That movie's seen by the studio as a part of the F4 franchise, and the reactions from Fox's crew point to them seeing the whole endeavor as a financial disappointment. Which is a shame, really, since JMS wrote the first draft.

they wanted to keep galactus' true form a secret for the silver surfer spin off where galactus will appear in his true classic form as the new ff movie was made to introduce the surfer and not galactus but i agree it was stupid and VaportrailFilms when you make a movie based on a poplular comic suchas ff we accept changes must be made but we except a certain level of respect when it comes to character marvel fucked up its 2007 movie line by not doing any of the characters justice

Well galactus wasn't fully shown because the diractor Tim Story said that he'll never have a giant robot in his movies. Galactus resembles a giant robot so he had to redasign him.

First of it was the ship that was hidden in the cloud, and the things "grabbing" the planet are actually the wires (conected to his ship) that suck out the energy of the planet.

The only things I didn't like though were the fact that Surfer's power lied within his board, and his power seemed to be a bit off (healing Doom, altering Human Torch's molecules etc.)

But the worst thing was that he defeated Galactus. The Ultimate Nullifier would've been a better solution.

The only beef i had with the movie was the result of the Surfer vs Galactus final showdown. Its like a cherry bomb vs a nuke and went against the comic manifesto. All i'm saying is Galactus is stronger and it would have taken an army to stop him, not just one guy. Other then that the movie was alright.

I've recently seen the new F4 movie and i liked Galactus. Yea he was a giant cloud, but c'mon a big guy in a purple suit would of not fitted the movie interpretion of these charecters. Plus the fact that they had to change the original form of Galactus, because it had to suit a new audiences watching this movie. In a way this Galactus was a spin-off design to the Ultimate Gah Lak Tus design. Thats all i have to say really.

Comic to film adaptations usually don't bug me, but Galactus' cloud of cigarette smoke ash did. Also, they production crew could have made this film without Dr. Doom.

Dr. Doom's VERY pointless return in this film was really atrocious. ...so, you're telling me that a "bad guy" is going to maintain his malignancy DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE WORLD'S ABOUT TO GET PWN'D?! Let me make my stance on this film clear -

1) Galactus should have been in a humanoid form.

2) Dr. Doom shouldn't have been in this film at all.

3) This film had a few laughable jokes (ie Stan Lee), but the Thing's burping and the antics of the 'Torch were just as bad as an Emo Peter Parker.

4) The Fantastic Four originally helped the Surfer in destroying Galactus. I don't know what happened to that element. The 'Surfer's ability to wipe out Galactus by himself doesn't make any sense.

hmm, at the beginning of the movie where you see that cloud ripping the planet, i actually thought Galactus was IN the cloud. glad i was right, well, sort of, the whole flame face thing. nice review, the second movie was great. the first movie i feel was introducing the characters and them getting adjusted to their powers. great review, keep up the good work.

I thought the exact same thing. This is suppose to be just a fun family movie without all the drama of previous superhero franchises like Spider-man, X-Men, Superman, and Batman. Though, personally, I believe a successful superhero movie must have just the right amount of action and drama. I also enjoyed the movie. I wish they hadn't taken out The Surfer so easily. Norrin fighting the whole Fantastic Four would have been cool. I agree with the Galactus thing, hopefully we will see him in the future. Also, did you notice Jessica Alba? Her eyes are really blue in the new flick.  I've heard rumors that she got eye surgery or that they made her wear contacts for the new film.

I think Galactus is a fruity looking character. He is supposed to a frightening god-like being but he's more comical than scary.

Darkseid, DC's version of Galactus is for fearsome.

Yep, some movies are just meant to be enjoyed. I do not know much about the villains other than Dr. Doom in FF4 world, so I feel I would simply enjoy it for what it is; a fun comic book based movie. And, ya, Jessica Alba too. :D
