  • I'm not ashamed to admit that I liked their score a LOT more than I did the original

  • saw them at cornell last night.. what an experience!!!! truly memorable.. this video does not at all translate the feeling of seeing the film and hearing the music. the band is barely visible..

  • @nosowisewoman I saw the US premiere at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Awesome. Their score may not be the original, but it is the best!

Also, their score may not be on the DVD/BluRay, but they do sell it on CD on their website!

  • I'll be going to see this live later in the month & can't wait. FYI: Alloy Orchestra is selling their Complete Metropolis Score on CD at their website. I'm sure industrious fans can synch this to the eventual Kino DVD. ;)

  • Alloy fans near NYC, Alloy will be playing to "Metropolis" live on Fri nite, Oct 29 at the 92nd Street Y in Tribeca - I can't wait!!

  • Saw the restored Metropolis with the Alloy at The Belcourt in Nashville last night. A stunning night of cinema and music. Kino MUST have the Alloy score on the DVD! They were brilliant.

  • Just saw them perform to Metropolis last night. It absolutely blew my mind. Unbelievable score and unbelievable talent! Thank you Alloy!

  • If Alloy is not on the DVD or Blu Ray then I am not buying it!

  • @0lawrence1 They're not on it :(. But you can buy their score separate, from their website, and then just sinc it up yourself!

  • I love the original score for this film and love it. I was resistant to the idea of a new score until I saw this piece performed live with the film in SF. It was wonderful, and I am happy to say it will be included as an alternative track on the Kino blue-Ray release in Nov.

  • @icarusinbrazil No it won't. On "Nitrateville", a classic film forum, The head of Alloy posted this...

"Well, in a stunning reversal, I just got a call for Don Krim at Kino who tells me that the German owners of Metropolis - Murnau Stiftung - have decided that Kino cannot use Alloy's score on the DVD."

  • @Chub4ChubsRule That is a shame.

  • if you have a chance to see these men play with the movie as I did last Sunday evening do it. This little snippet doesn't do it justice as to how amazing it was.

  • Christ, give me the original Huppertz score instead.

  • That last bit is the same theme used in their score for "The Wind." Recycling, or a bit of misplaced music?
