Connies will defend the actions of their representative tooth and nail, but among liberals you see more disaffection. That's because there's a difference: Conservatives are a lot more homogeneous in their beliefs and politicians capitalize on that and milk it for all its worth. Liberals aren't fooled so easily. Compare: 6 years for Bush, 1 year for Obama; before their base began to lose faith.

And on the people who watch Glenn Beck - They are over 60. They are dumbed down from DECADES of government propaganda like CNN, FAUX SNews, MSNBC and the dying off evening news groups. They mostly went to public schools where they were taught to love government, believe everything the government says, and just follow orders and obey the law, whatever the orders or law may be. There is an acute understanding of the principles that founded our country and therefore a keener sadness at the observation of how that inheritance has been squandered. Is it inevitable that most people are incapable of exercising sovereignty over themselves, and must instead reject liberty for all, in order that we may all be subjects of cruel and petty tyrants?

@thatguyontheright1 I think you're both right. Capitalism is not synonymous with industrialism. Capitalism is trade. It can even be based on barter. As long as people have incentive to produce because the more they make, the more they have, there is capitalism. Agrarian colonial America was awash in capitalism. It was a new world with great opportunity. We have less capitalism today because government redistributes wealth and that removes the incentive to produce.

@SpazzzDog The TEA Party that I know is composed of the full gamut of religious and spiritual beliefs, and is for the most part tolerant of others' beliefs, and does not malign and ridicule people based on a perceived difference in beliefs. As for equality, they understand the difference between equal opportunity with equal treatment under the law and using the force of government to constantly redistribute through theft the rightful property of others resulting in trickle down poverty for all.

@2012Romney You claim "Bush did not cause the recession, and that is common knowledge". Fair enough, because the recession is so multifaceted, no one cause can be attributed (sub-primes, egregious banking and Wall St. practices are among them). That said, how did he help avoid it? By dragging us into his 3 trillion dollar war we couldn't afford? You may be able to say he didn't cause it, but explain what he did to ward it off. Thanks.
