The overwhelming problem with this video is that it has absolutely nothing to do with the song. The song is a very cool song. This video totally takes away everything that the song has (had) going for it. This song is one of his few actually good solo efforts wherein a complimentary video could have easily enhanced the song and made it even more mesmerizing. This ruins it.

I think videos tend to be overlooked as an art medium. So what if it took a tenner to make, personally, I think it goes very well with the song (although the only part that I can tie up with the song is the search light in the cinema = golden gaze/"With the rays of the sun through the roof, I caught your golden gaze"). I will say finally that certain artists with more marketing clout come up with some awful videos. See Britney's Toxic for an example in a truly atrocious video.
