Ya know what pretty Ironic with these Animes involving Earth being Attacked and or Invaded by an Alien Race...the words Earth Defense Force is commonly used, Ive also noticed it is used in the newer Godzilla Movies like Final Wars, which I watched after viewing this short CGI clip.

is that so? is that just a wild rumor? I read that news on one of "Yamato" related YouTube sites. You live in Switzerland, don't you. Have you ever seen the original episodes with English subtitle of any "Space Battle Ship Yamato" series which were aired in Japan? I know Star Blazers(U.S. version) was edited and many scenes were cut and original conversations were changed for protecting US children. But I am sure the original is the best. Have u ever seen the original?

Yes I have, but just later,the first thing we got here was Star blazers too.The original is much more intense, more "realistic" and deeper .If you have the chance watch them. Disney wants even to change the ship's name from Yamato to Arizona and they seem not to understand that Yamato IS the soul of this story and you cannot change it!If you haven't already, watch Final Yamato.

I mean that version is the very original and you can know the real taste and nature of Yamato with it.

I saw the Final Yamato. Ya, the story composition is not good very much and battle scenes look a bit cheap.

However Yuki Mori(or Nova) has got much more beautiful and I was very touched by her single-minded love.

I mean the original, the version that we got not to see on TV. I think that feeling for Yamato shines very good trough in Final Yamato. Well you know it may seem cheap right now but Uchu0 senkan Yamato was top 30 years ago and Final Yamato was a big success at the time.

that rumor was from the 90's. Disney dropped it. I would be fine if they kept the argo. I dont think people would really want to see it as yamato in the US and if they used arizona i think it would a slap in the face to the original creation. Its a good thing they dropped it though, They totally cut the captain avatar character out, which i thought was umm beyond idiotic to say the least

I see...i got very dissapointed...i didn't even know that the plot used Arizona instead of Yamato and that they cut captain Okita's character...so considering these, it may be good that they droppd the idea eventually...

I think the original "Space Battle Ship Yamato" is nice...I mean the episodes of "Star Blazers" which were aired in US were MUCH editted for protecting under-age audience. many scenes were deleted and lines were changed. I am very much dissapointed to see them.

yes ive seen them. I know you can at least get them on vhs, at one time i owned them. I had the original movies which this based off of, i know they sub titled the japanese show that followed im pretty sure. They are expensive though. As far as dubbing goes I thought the first season was dubbed pretty well, if you compare how awful some of the other dubbings were done for other japanimation shows
