Thanks for sharing your experience and congratulations on a wonderful birth. I love that my memories of childbirth are so positive and I'm glad yours are, too. Enjoy your son.
This vid inspired me to have my own hypnobirth and I did it! My beautiful son was born without so much as a panadol and It was all due to the hypno-birthing experience. Thanks for sharing and inspiring so many others. XO
Firstly congratulations on a beatiful baby and birth! I am a student midwife in England (approaching the end of my training - yay!) and find it so refreshing to see you embrace the natural approach and be so confident in your body's abilities. Though I have delivered babies in waterbirths, I would love to deliver many during a hypnobirth- they look wonderful! Many congratulations :) :)
I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby & just looking around at birth options. I would like to have a home birth & am keen on the idea of hypnobirthing.
Seen so many videos of women screaming & it really terrifies me.
I know everyone's body is different & some women have higher pain thresholds but thank you for posting this video; it's made me feel more confident that I'm making the right choice for me. x
awesome, awesome birth! my favorite part is when your older children come in..just beautiful.. am at this very moment in a training to become a HypnoBirthing instructor and watching your video reminds me just why i want to do this
your birth was so beautiful and sweet. When your boys came in i teared up. We're due with our first in august and I'm looking forward to our home birth even more as I watch videos like yours. Thanks so much for posting and sharing!

I'm so grateful for people like you that post water birth and hypno birthing on youtube because now I know which way I want to give birth and this has put my mind at ease. I look forward to starting the hypno classes. Thank you for sharing this and congratulations!
I gave birth to my Second son using HypnoBirthing. My first son I had all the drugs going and still had issues. With my second son I felt no pain only pressure and gave birth in an hour to a very alert 11lb 7oz baby and went home shortly afterwards. I know it may seem a bit 'hippy' but its really just taking birth back to what it should be when there arn't any complications. Im 18 weeks pregnant now and I am planning to have a home birth using Hypnobirthing this time.
Hello. A lovely Video!! I myself am pregnant with my first Baby to be born. I am in Uruguay.
But actually I have a question which is very important for me to know if you would share: 1) In the final phase, did you press or did you continue to relax and your Baby made his own way in his own time? 2) Did you move around/ were standing or in your knees in phase one and two of the labour? Or did you lay on your bed/back? Please do answer me, it is so important to me. Thank you.
@karinglaubtanjesus Thank you, and congratulations. In the earlier part of labor I layed on my side in bed. In the tub I was able to sit, but as I got closer to the final stage of labor I moved onto my knees. I never stood. About the pushing, I was never coached on it, but I did push a little. The best way to discribe it is like having a bowel movement - you don't force it out but there is some natural, spontaneous pushing involved. Hope this helps and good luck.
I know this is an ignorant question, but I haven't had a child before. I was wondering if you felt any pain at all? Please send me a message, I'm dying to hear from you, I am terrified of childbirth. And in every water birth I've seen the women seemed fine.
It wasn't perfectly painless, but it was totally bearable. After three births, I would be more afraid of an epidural and pitocin in the hospital than a home birth (in a low risk pregnancy). If you can take a hypnobirthing class, it might do you some good. Part of the class involves facing any fears of birth you may have. There is a fear-pain connection. I think hypnobirthing worked so well for me because I was able to relax and feel in control.
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Having my 5th in a month - lloking into Hypnobirthing for the first time. lol - have the book, don't have time to get the class in, but it all makes so much sense. Wonderful - just wonderful!
Can you do a hypnobirth and still have your baby at the hospital? There are no birthing centers near me and I don't want to have my first at home. It looks peaceful. Were you in pain at all? Thank you for sharing this video with the world-- it was beautiful!
@gmt903 Yes, you can absolutely have a hypnobirth at the hospital. The best place for you to have a natural hypnobirth is wherever you will feel most comfortable, calm and relaxed - and if that's a hospital, bring it on.
This is amazing! We are pregnant with our fist and are hoping for a similar experience! We are going to be taking a hypnobirhthing class and can't wait to take it!
Oh my goodness that was amazing! I've never heard of this method before but if that is the result, then I will certainly look into it more. congratulations!
Wow! Its so peaceful. I am thinking about children, and I told my husband I would rather be at home for the birth. I dont like docs poking around at me.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful moment! I watched your video to get into the spirit of things before the birth of my second daughter. I had tears in my eyes seeing the happy birth of yours, and I had a similar birth myself (also with hypnobirthing - but without the pool - and slightly louder ;-). All the best to you and your beautiful family!
Amazing. What a great video, tnx for sharing. I'm also due in July 2010 and hypnobirthing was recommended to me by a friend. I've been looking into it for a few weeks now. The more I read and see, the more I'm convinced I have to do this. I'm scared of the birth and this sounds like it could help me with my anxiety.
This is really great to see. I'm at 34 weeks now and planning a hypnobabies birth- seeing successful ones makes me really confident that I can do this! Thank you for posting this.
it's so sad that a so called a modern man has abandoned it's belief in human bodys ability to superbly fulfil this task as nature intended...only 0.5 % of deliveries and pregnancies are in seek of medical attention because of complicationswhy should every normal and healthy women be treated as a part of that 0.5% ?????
Women in a coma had there babies. without pushing...so baby and mommy's body can work together without a violent "pushing" to welcome baby to this world. Pushing is actually so wrong in a way that it causes tearing and bleeding more then it should be...
That was beautiful! Thank you for posting a positive and relaxing video of birth. I'm 37 weeks with #3. This will be my 3rd midwife birth and 2nd hypnobirth. I LOVE my hypnobabies homestudy course. And it made #2 so wonderful! I cried through your birthing and especially when your boys came in! God bless your precious family!
beautiful and empowering. it's so nice to see women taking back this experience and believing in the power of our own bodies to bring life into the world peacefully and drug free. lucky baby! i am hypnobirthing any day now and SO excited for the big day to arrive. thanks for the encouragement!!!
Wow that made me cry- especially when your boys came in. Amazing. I'm pregnant with my first and looking into hypnobirhting...only problem is I'm a bit cynical in nature (I call myself a realist but husband says cynic haha) and was wondering if you think that would affect the hypnobirthing 'working' for me?
I would definitely recommend taking a hypnobirthing class. Part of the training is letting go of any fear or negative thoughts, and just thinking about birth in a whole new, positive way. Also, in my class we watched so many birth videos as wonderful as this one, that I couldn't help but expect a similar experience. That positive expectation really helps.

If you believe in the placebo effect (clinically proven to be effective) then this crap will work, but only because you want it to. Don't listen to these dirty hippies. Modern medicine is good at what it does for a reason: IT WORKS and is based on EVIDENCE. Not superstition and gut feelings like this crap.
When you are afraid, your body releases hormones in response to the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, right? These hormones cause you muscles to tighten/harden, right? All scientific. When you relax and meditate, you produce hormones that cause muscles to lengthen & soften. You have no fear when meditating. Therefore, the result is that a baby can "slide" out against soft muscles, not hard, resistant fibres which bring on more pain.

I call bullshit. You don't know jack shit. this is what they have epidurals for. Babies don't just slide out. That is unless, of course, the vagina is as used and abused as yours.
Well...2 things for you. #1) I'm 40 y.o. I didn't realize that was so old and #2) I'm a guy, so I don't have that body part you're referring to. Anyway, please chill out..you're gonna' get a heart attack.
PS. Why don't you ask the thousands of women who have done this if it's for real. Wouldn't that be a scientific way of determining if it works?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
#1-Yes that's old as shit.
#2-so what, your pussy still hurts otherwise you wouldn't be whining so much.
No that wouldn't be a scientific way of doing it. These kooks that put themselves and their babies at risk because of some delusional thinking make up a statisctically insignificant population. There's a reason for that, by the way.
Oh and you don't 'get' a heart attack. I guess that shows all of your medical training and expertise.
You're entitled to your opinion but do you think you are doing a service to people that want a natural birth and not the the standard medical intervention? Also, learn about placebo effect..there are more women doing it this way in other countries that have less complications.

what the fuck do you know about medicine, hippie? been to med school? or do you just get your 'information' from ELF pamphlets? You fucking people are so quick to disparage modern medicine, but the first time you get in trouble your ass is calling a doctor. Goddamned hippocrates. Keep eating your granola and fucking trees, or whatever it is you do to stink so bad.
Wow...that's a lot of anger. I'm a hippie?!? If you ever met me that would be a funny comment. Why not ask the women who have used this technique, you might be more informed. Oh, but if you do that, you might actually have a different perspective, G-d forbid...
Looking at your profile, it becomes clearer.. you're 22 y.o and have all the answers. Try to chill on the anger, you're only hurting yourself..( Love, the hippie)

Looking at your profile it becomes clearer you're old as fuck and just learned how to turn on one of these new fangled computer devices. I've talked to enough knotty-headed dirty hippies to know all about their perspective. Anything that's not westernized medicine is cool with them. As long as some sheep-fucking shaman in the outback said it heals cancer, it must be true, right? Why do you dumbshits hate evidence-based medicine so much?
@4lifelinuxYou need to look at the actual evidence you're raving so frantically about. Neither hypnobirthing or home birthing is dangerous or risky if you're having a normal healthy pregnancy. You can look it up on the fabulous interwebs if you don't believe me or anyone else here who have had great births.
@4lifelinux haha the state of you!u sound completely retarded nd up ur own hole! like some1 said already, why not ask all the women who have actually done it?I dont see how u think u would have a clue anyway considering u have nd never will give birth(thank fuck for that)
@4lifelinux nd im guessing you dont know anyone who will give birth like that considering arseholes tend to surround themselves with even more arseholes! Im not a 'hippy'but so what if every single person here was? what gives you the right to make that assumption?go get a life for yourself, open your eyes and grow up!
@4lifelinux and thats why my many midwifes working in hospitals encourage hypnobirthing? After reading all your comments you are seriously starting to wreck my head! Give me ONE reason why hypnobirthing is not based on evidence?? or why you seem to think you 'opinion' is the be all and end all? its people like you that have been brought up to never break the mould because you care to much what other people think. Go get a hug will ya? its obvious thats all you need.
The labor lasted about 5 hours, the more intense part lasting an hour our two. The previous birth (my second) was actually easier. I hope your experience is similar, but every one is unique. Good luck.
This was incredible, thankyou for posting this!! It's inspiring, I'm 33 weeks, and I can't wait for this moment...I hope my hypnobirth is just as beautiful!! <3
I am having a hypnobirth. I am 33 weeks at the moment and I seriously cannot wait to go into labour. Thank you for putting your video on here people need to see how beautiful hypnobirth is. I am considering filming mine. I would like to deliver in water too you really do look so peaceful. Beautiful. What an inspiration. I will let you know when I have the same amazing experience as you.
That seemed so peaceful! ( I know so many people have already said that. XD) I just loved that everyone started laughing - that's how it should be. Thank you for sharing it, it definitely lifted my spirits a bit. ^.^
Of course insurance didn't cover it! Epidural, sure, but not this. Not terribly expensive, though - I'm sure the cost depends on the teacher. And if you don't want to use drugs, worth every penny. And PS, I wasn't sleeping, I was having a contraction.
Thanks for sharing, what an amazing birth you had! I'm 30 wks and starting a hypnobirthing course soon - I hope I have as good as expereince as you did :o) Congratulations! x
Okay, I've been researching hypnobirthing for a little bit now, and that's the most calm birth I've ever seen...you gave birth and immediately smiled and laughed with happiness... I would've thought that was impossible. This is really due to hypnobirthing? I might just be sold... :)
I won't say that every woman who uses hypnobirthing has such a calm birth, but for me it was the only way to get there. I love telling people about what it allowed me to do. I hope you are sold.
I too had a Hypnobirth & I enjoyed every minute of it! Where in the country are you located. We are in NYC. Beautiful video! Next time we are going to have the baby at home! :-)
I'm in south florida. I highly recommend a home birth; it was comfortable and intimate feeling, even with so many family and friends present. I also recommend the birthing tub I used - La Bassine by Made in Water...so comfortable! For me, hypnobirthing is the only way to go. I never imagined labor could be peaceful.
I can't belive you were ok with having a woman hovering over you for so long once you gave birth. She kept laughing and sniffing. That would drive me crazy!
The woman is my midwife. She was "hovering" above me because Aline took a couple minutes to give us a good cry and she was trying to stimulate her. My mom, who was working the camera, is the one laughing. I'm not sure what the sniffing sound is -I never noticed it before. Honestly, at that moment, all I noticed was my new baby.
Yes,,also brought tears to my eyes..lovely moment!

OMG, how it looks eazy, how long thid it last (birth)? I am expecting my second one, and hoping this is realy what you say. :) cheers!
airsolaja 2 years ago
The labor lasted about 5 hours, the more intense part lasting an hour our two. The previous birth (my second) was actually easier. I hope your experience is similar, but every one is unique. Good luck.

wow you made it look so easy! Lovely to have your other 2 kids come into the room so soon after the birth.

That seemed so peaceful! ( I know so many people have already said that. XD) I just loved that everyone started laughing - that's how it should be. Thank you for sharing it, it definitely lifted my spirits a bit. ^.^

Is it expensive? Did your health insurance cover it?
truthspeaks84 3 years ago
Of course insurance didn't cover it! Epidural, sure, but not this. Not terribly expensive, though - I'm sure the cost depends on the teacher. And if you don't want to use drugs, worth every penny. And PS, I wasn't sleeping, I was having a contraction.

Okay, I've been researching hypnobirthing for a little bit now, and that's the most calm birth I've ever seen...you gave birth and immediately smiled and laughed with happiness... I would've thought that was impossible. This is really due to hypnobirthing? I might just be sold... :)
MamaCatCat 3 years ago
I won't say that every woman who uses hypnobirthing has such a calm birth, but for me it was the only way to get there. I love telling people about what it allowed me to do. I hope you are sold.

I really hope I have such a wonderful experience this time.

So, rate the pain?

That lady hanging over you would tick me off! She didn't even give you a few seconds to hold YOUR baby. Great birth, great job!
dzemergency 3 years ago
I can't belive you were ok with having a woman hovering over you for so long once you gave birth. She kept laughing and sniffing. That would drive me crazy!
sweet89190 3 years ago 2
The woman is my midwife. She was "hovering" above me because Aline took a couple minutes to give us a good cry and she was trying to stimulate her. My mom, who was working the camera, is the one laughing. I'm not sure what the sniffing sound is -I never noticed it before. Honestly, at that moment, all I noticed was my new baby.
