I'm stuck between buying a Fix and a Burton Custom V- Rocker. I'm 6'1 205. I currently own a Burton Custom 166. Board's too damn tall and I do 50/50 terrain and park. I will never pass up on a jump, big or small, or any boxes or rails that come my way. Which one should I get and what size? I was looking into a 155/156 range.. Which board would you recommend? Custom V or the Fix?
@jyhighsky Fix is generally good with both, im in the same position, i have the custom, and im getting a fix and a custom v rocker, but ive tried out the fix, its smooth, great for jumps and jibs. You'll have fun laps through the park
Both are really great boards and neither will disappoint you.If you're just gonna be rocking one board then get the custom. But if you're looking for a more park oriented board to add to your quiver then the fix is the best bet.
if someone know where i can buy burton fix 149, but i cant buy this board in state because im from europe. and they cant delivery to me.please tell me where i can buy this board.
would you say this board is decent for groomers and the park? I have a pow board already but I'm looking for a decent park board that I can still ride around the resort. also, i read from an earlier comment that it isn't that great for big jumps. how big we talkin? is it a more of a jib specific board?
um, sorry but all that you mentioned are all A.. regular camber and B. a wide range of boards that are either stiff or soft. I would suggest something like the Burton Joystick, K2 Parkstar or the Burton X8 are all mid flexing park boards.
the T1 and Scare are both 2's on the flex level and and the Scare which is an 09 board is regular camber. the 2010 T1 is considered low camber not reverse you might be more referring to the Sub zero or the 09 sub pop. and finally the Custom and Joystick are technically considered all mountain freestyle and not park as the Blunt, X8 and Dom are truly classified as.
any board can point down the hill some will chatter more than others, and I think you have this board slightly backwards, this is more of a rail/jib board that can hit kickers and ride a little pow but really this is a jib specific board.
i bought a 152 today, took it out for a spin on the grass and it felt like pretty different board thats for sure... but in a good way, it pops really well, and when you land in a press the p rocker allows it to sit and lock into place, no effort which is super fun
its a park board unless you live in the mid west and have flat short runs and dustings of pow then you re not going to be using this as a pow stick ure it has the party rocker but thats for jibbing not so much for pow
I live in bc canada, theres a fair bit of pow through out the season, you still didn't answer my question though, how is it on jumps and in pow!?! I ride the park pretty much the whole season. I just really want to know how it is on jumps, cause i can always just deal with pow
the 09 fix is flat chamber. the 10 fix is p-rocker. do the two rockers ride differently? i ride the 09 hero with v-rocker. very fun board to ride, loose and nimble. I hear the p-rocker rides like a skateboard and flat chamber rides like a surfboard. any thoughts/
both boards felt the same. Both boards have the same skateboard feel. I think Burton was just looking to update the name rather than change the board tech altogether. I could be wrong but I will double check with Burton and get a 100% correct ansswer.
thank you. i actually ordered the 09 fix and will test it vs the 09 hero (flat camber vs V-camber) i think youre right about the 10 fix, flat camber=p-rocker.
So I stand incorrect, this years board is different with the new party rocker but had I know that when I rode it I still would have thought it felt the same
i'm no way a professional snowboarder, just a geeky consumer who buys alot of stuff. i compared 09 fix "zero chamber" to my 09 hero and the fix IS NOT FLAT between the stance. The hero is flatter. burton trying to be sneaky? i think burton wanted a "zero chamber" board and made the fix. then tweaked the board more, got the hero and liked it. Now new boards have the V-rocker instead of the zero chamber. its business evolution. BTW the v-rocker is sweet. if they ride the same. im cool with that.
if you are going to ride mostly park then the Fix if you want a more do it all board then go with the custom b/c the fix isn't the best at high speeds in the all mountain realm.

My bad. In the first post I meant the Custom V rocker, not the Custom X.

Does the party rocker help at all in powder?
4BoardAllDay4 2 years ago
any rockered board makes pow a little easier but with most park boards you size down and thus pow again becomes hard...
PortersLars 2 years ago
LOVE MY FIX! but yeah.. definitely not too good for pow
andydog93 2 years ago
Is the fix good in pow, and on jumps? it looks so epic for jibbing and fsu
burtonjibber4 2 years ago
the fix is a park board and not really that fun at high all mountain speeds outside the park
PortersLars 2 years ago
hmmm well thats not really what i asked, how is it in pow and on jumps?!

the fix is more of a rail/jib specific board with a softer flex so smaller jumps are manageable but its too soft for really large jumps.

the party rocker is zero camber in between your feet while the nose and tail have a rocker

Is the 2010 fix the same as the 2009 fix
devenito 2 years ago
