think it's a combination of they're really only interested in dressing the kind of men they want to be & screw:rich, gay White men on the stroll(not that there's anything wrong w/ being that,
LMAO
errr most ghetto's are wearing it with the price tags hanging off it
D&G only market to a certain group of people once you really look at it black people really don't wear their cloths and the same for abercrombie, so why would they wanna market their cloths to us when we aren't consumers of the product
@myronmlawing OK, incorrect. I'm black and I would love to wear D&G. Please, Please, Please do not speak for black people as a whole it makes you look ignorant.
It's a shame for D&G that they REFUSE to use Black MEN in their shows or ads or lend clothes to Black artists for fashion spreads, stating that "the Black market is not one that we want to cater to".
I was watching a biography of Ebony fashion fair's 50th Anniversary, &, the one story about them which sticks out in my mind, was the one told by mega-stylist Philip Bloch. He was styling Michael Jackson for a cover story for Ebony in late '06 or '07. Per custom, he went to D&G, asked them to lend items for the shoot. D&G REFUSED, telling Bloch the quote that I've listed above. It turned out to be a huge mistake, as that issue was the year's biggest seller, & the D&G story's making the rounds...
I think it's a combination of they're really only interested in dressing the kind of men they want to be & screw:rich, gay White men on the stroll(not that there's anything wrong w/ being that, of course) & they fear or know that a Black man's prescence would totally overpower the clothes their poorly tailored garment. How many Italian designers do you see with Black men on their runways, period? However, Italian Vogue July issue features only Black women models in. Just a trend? Hope not.
They have no interest in selling to Black people. I have no interest in buying from D&G. They've already, apparently, stated that they have no interest in the Black market. As news of this gets around, they will be in hug etrouble. Black women, alone, reportedly, spend over $20 BILLION per year on fashion. What part of BILLION do these PROVINCIAL boys from the stix not understand?
