They have the name "Beta" fish but are also called Siamese fighting fish. They have VERY sharp teeth that are meant to rip and tear the fins of other Beta fish. NEVER keep two males in one tank.

BAAAD container for betta (or any fish). Never get tall skinny ones as there's no room for them to swim. And bettas are prone to JUMPING - so always have a mesh lid (to allow for good airflow) to keep them from getting out. Don't think betta's don't like larger tanks just because they're sold in cups. They're sold that way because they're hardy fish, but those cups are torture chambers. Get your betta some room and some ornaments and he'll be happy. Cheers.

It just seems a really tiny bowl, like that bowl is it's entire world, the least a pet owner could do is give it the best life possible with lots of room to move. This doesn't look like it holds 2 litres. And its round, so probably only has probably half the swimming space. I wish I could give this girl one of my old tanks. I hate seeing fish in tiny bowls, even if it meets their "guidelines" to survive.

ummm, please. betta fishes...well all fishes arnt ment to be kept in vases/bowls the ammonia will build up fast. there is not enough room for them too swim, thats like being in one of those tiny jail cells. 1 betta fish needs AT LEAST 10 or 20 gallons of water space and plants

@TheHobdenMarina I don't know much about betta's, as I only have a goldfish. It just seems a really tiny bowl, like that bowl is it's entire world, the least a pet owner could do is give it the best life possible with lots of room to move. This doesn't look like it holds 2 litres. And its round, so probably only has probably half the swimming space. I wish I could give this girl one of my old tanks. I hate seeing fish in tiny bowls, even if it meets their "guidelines" to survive.

Hey dipshit- your betta is an air breather- a vase doesn't provide them enough air to breath. It's like if someone put you into a room with a tiny little window that barely provided oxygen. Learn to take care of your pets and quit being an asshole. They need 1 gallon of water to live in.
