there is a speaker built in and u can use it for everything int he ipod except the radio which needs the earphones to get reception so yes u can hear ur vids with the speaker as well as the earphones and speaker is in the back of the ddivece btw over the flash drive

buy a cassest with normal ear phone jack attached to it, then get a boombox (80's newyork style preferibly), put casses in, hook in ipod, and rock da BASS, insted of tho's anoying minispeakers
