'Drive Angry' was a hilarious movie, but their idea of Satan was great, too. As punishment for a single, poorly thought out crime, he's stuck playing as warden to the worst prison in the universe. And all the while, murderers and rapists claim he's responsible for their mortal actions.
You know, this scene is amazing, it really is, but unfortunately I have to put Lucifer as the third best character in this movie, below Gabriel and Jerry. And that's only because of his "I love you; I love you more than Jesus" line at the end of the movie. The way he says it almost completely killed his character for me.

In the New Testament, Satan is The Devil, The Fallen, the enemy of God, forever seekiing to lead man astray in order to spite God. In the Old Testament, Satan's role is entirely different, in that anything he does seems to occur with God's permission (book of Job, for example)... I'd almost have to guess that The Devil and Satan are not necessarily one and same and that the conflation of the two occurred during the early years of Christianity when translations were still being decided upon

That's true, and Peter Stormare's devil was fantastic as well, but I think I like the Prophecy more.
Whereas Constantine had Keanu Reeves displaying all the emotion of a potted plant, The Prophecy had Christopher Walken being so hilariously over the top that he made Captain Kirk look subtle.

depends on your religion. in christian religion he was the first angel who was cast from heaven for attempting to ascend higher than god himself, not one of the sons of god because god only had 1 son "Jesus". there's another religion where lucifer isn't a fallen angel at all but instead points out mans sins to god. @apxeli In Christianity, and most likely Judaism, Lucifer was the most beautiful angel that the Lord God Almighty created. Lucifer became too prideful and rebelled against the Lord God, taking a third of the angels with him. They were cast out of Heaven, Lucifer became Satan, and the 1/3 of the angels that he took with him became his demons. Hope that this was insightful. The Lord loves you. God bless.
