doesn't matter how thick or how well made the glass was, if anything the new taurus wagon would have higher quality, safer glass. the porcelain a spark plug is scientifically "harder" than glass.

Well now, apparently it does, since I didn't see the older thicker Ranchero glass break on 2 attempts. The Taurus's window isn't a higher quality glass, it's thinner than what was made back in the 60's. Older glass does not shatter like that, it wasn't designed to the newer "shatter into millions of harmless pieces" glass didn't come into play until the late 70's early 80's. Apparently you're too young to know that.
