looks shit, gameplay looks similar to something like dragon age origins except from an rts camera angle and with rts unit detail. such a stupid finishing move for a soldier wearing power armour to nimbly climb up the back of an orc
@iliketha That "soldier" is 9 feet tall and that orc is double his size...unlike blizzard's fail orcs, warhammer orcs don't give a shit about honour and if you are smart. They only care how big you are! hence the leader being HUGE! The leader is able to take the mass of the "soldier" on his back.
@ockerz its not a case of whether the ork can support the soldier (i'm getting flashes of monty python here) its about the agility and balance of a soldier in power armour to be able to stay on the orc which would be moving around lol
@ockerz Ok good point I will keep this going if no one trolls it. :) The power armor talked about in the codex of the marines is made to improve the marines stats and making him faster stronger basically increasing all of his being past that which his super man self can be 3 lungs, 2 heart, more then 90% of his brain for cognitive thinking and ACID SPIT! :D I can understand what you mean with power armor from other games (fallout). whcih makes the player very heavy looking, tank like even!

Why are all good RTS game gets dumbed down to 'hey, choose a warrior or a mage and then go kill" ? It's getting really annoying. First they f*ck up the one and only CnC with this, then this one too. What's next, Starcraft? Are we really getting so dumb, that we can't manage to build up a base? This is the single reason why I don't buy this game. It's not RTS anymore to me, it's just cr*p.
@4narKi Because suddenly "Real-time Strategy" means "Build a base along with your economy, then build units to attack, then go attack". No. It's a strategy game... You use your units to strategically attack the other person in a way that (hopefully) favors you.
I'll fully admit C&C was ruined by it, but after Westwood got taken over by EA it was screwed anyway, so you can't really contribute just this basic idea to it.
IMO, this game is what games (RTS) should be, maybe just add base building.

but consoles have usb ports... i know that "unreal tournament 3" on the playstation 3 fully supports keyboard and mouse, they even put all the options in the game to allow you to assign keys and adjust mouse sensitivy and whatnot....

Its down to the game developers whether or not to allow keyboard and mouse, most dont do it for some daft reason

@willo1345 halo wars, as bad as people say it was, was in my opinion, a good rts. it took all the good aspects of most rts's and was a pretty good console rts. it did nothing original, though. and that's why it wasnt big
Well anything PORTED from PC to Console doesn't work very well, however, an RTS that is designed for a console and to be used with a controller (eg. Halo Wars) actually works quite well.

Damn, i got a core 2 duo 2.2Ghz, 2Gb RAM, and a geforce 7800 GTX (512mb) on Vista and this game runs like crap on medium settings, only just works on low with most things disabled, i thought i had all the "Recomended" kit here, i think the "recomended" list should be changed to being the "Minimum". looks like a sweet game but now i feel like i wasted £20 on a game which looks like it would run better on a sega dreamcast.
I have a 5 years old PC. P4 Prescott -3GHz, GF 6600GT at 256 and 1gb RAM... on WIN7. And this game worked for me on below average settings and it took 1-2min to go load a starge, but it worked very well. Aside from the 1-2min loading time whenever i entered a mission, no problem. Gameplay was awesome.
Yeah i found that it runs ok in the campaign, but try running the benchmark from the options (the test graphics button), it will choke in a 6p multiplayer game, but campaign works fine enough i supose

on my windows seven PC it lets me turn up the graphics but when it restarts they are not saved. My card is an nvidia geforce GT 230. I am sorry timothysoh, but you can't download a piece of hardware, you'll have to buy it. Also, I recommend you upgrade your RAM to 2GB buy a 9800 GT (6800GT is too old) and get at least a dual core processor.

If you're going to order one, I recommend the GTX 260 or a 9800 GT 1GB, if you can use more money on the VGA upgrade I recommend the HIS HD5970 2GB Radeon (or XFX).

Dual-Core processors are recommended to play the game, so this processor is nice, assuming you have at least 2GB RAM (4GB is better) again, you should now be able to play it.
Though I need to know the VGA of the Laptop, if it is something between a GeForce 6600 GT and a 7800 GT then you'll be able to play it. (on low res and medium settings, no AA)

Damn, i got a core 2 duo 2.2Ghz, 2Gb RAM, and a geforce 7800 GTX (512mb) on Vista and this game runs like crap on medium settings, only just works on low with most things disabled, i thought i had all the "Recomended" kit here, i think the "recomended" list should be changed to being the "Minimum". looks like a sweet game but now i feel like i wasted £20 on a game which looks like it would run better on a sega dreamcast.

I have a 5 years old PC. P4 Prescott -3GHz, GF 6600GT at 256 and 1gb RAM... on WIN7. And this game worked for me on below average settings and it took 1-2min to go load a starge, but it worked very well. Aside from the 1-2min loading time whenever i entered a mission, no problem. Gameplay was awesome.

Yeah i found that it runs ok in the campaign, but try running the benchmark from the options (the test graphics button), it will choke in a 6p multiplayer game, but campaign works fine enough i supose

Yeah, i thought id get one as it was goin cheap and on the "recomended system requirements" on steam the 7800gt was what was reccomended for optimum performance or something, ahwell im on a mission now building an Sli PC, i got an XFX 750i motherboard and gunna whack some GTS250's in i think should get this game running ;)

on my windows seven PC it lets me turn up the graphics but when it restarts they are not saved. My card is an nvidia geforce GT 230. I know if my card simply cannot cope with higher setting in just blanks them out when i try and change them but this lets me but it just does not save! please help me somone i beg you

guys my laptop could barley run t his on low so i installed this on my pc. i Have 6gb ram a quad cpre proceser. My graphics card is an NVIDIA geforce GT 230. I know this card is beter than the laptops 8400m gs and on what i could turn up the graphics even if it went at a crap FPS. on this PC and can turn the graphics up they r not blanked out or anything. When the game restarts my new system settings are not saved and i know this card is better becasue of the higher frame r8 on lol specs. PLZHLP

I am sorry timothysoh, but you can't download a piece of hardware, you'll have to buy it. Also, I recommend you upgrade your RAM to 2GB buy a 9800 GT (6800GT is too old) and get at least a dual core processor.

i have all the requirements for this game but i geta message saying "make sure direct x is installed and that i have the right drivers installed" does this meen i need a graphics card to play, as my pc doesnt have 1, i have direct x 9.0c and everything else except the card

You need a VGA (Graphic Card) to play the game, the minimum is this one:
* A 128MB Video Card (Shader Model 3) - Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT / ATI X1600, or equivalent
You need a VGA that supports Shader Model 3 and has at least 128MB

If you're going to order one, I recommend the GTX 260 or a 9800 GT 1GB, if you can use more money on the VGA upgrade I recommend the HIS HD5970 2GB Radeon (or XFX).

You have a lot of 'colour' orbs that you can use to customize your armies, but isn't as good as DoW 1 army painter, in my humble opinion. :)

Well, from the information I could gather, I am sorry to say that your PC may not be able to run it.
This PC has good RAM, but it lacks good VGA and a better processor.
If you can get a better processor and better VGA then you'll run it good.
That is assuming your PC has 4GB of RAM.

Hey, it's no problem :D, It's always a pleasure to help.
Dual-Core processors are recommended to play the game, so this processor is nice, assuming you have at least 2GB RAM (4GB is better) again, you should now be able to play it.
Though I need to know the VGA of the Laptop, if it is something between a GeForce 6600 GT and a 7800 GT then you'll be able to play it. (on low res and medium settings, no AA)

everything checks out but im not sure about the graphics card.... its a ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics
but the laptop itself has windows 7 a AMD Athlon™ Dual-Core Processor
