@yankeegal01 Because scientists introduced vegatables, women (or men) are afraid of lookng fat! I'm just saying some time America has diabetical food i'm not trying to sound racist. Can i ask, are you american??
@TheBunkitty First, American isn't a "race". Second, yes I am American. Third, and I state again, if our food in the 1980s was so bad, then why wasn't there the obesity problem existing then? Yet today, there's this push on for "healthy" food, yet probably 70-80% of all Americans are overweight/obese. Just thoughts to ponder.
Does anyone remember the Nestle cookie commercial when a guy was singing this while he was making cookies, and his wife spied on him and got a kick out of him and giggled, and at the end of the commercial he turned around and noticed her while he ate a cookie. I wil give anything to see it uploaded again.
the little boy with the curly brown hair... he was my acting professor last year..he is much older now, of course!! but he said that when he cracked the egg in the commercial, it was actually the first time he had ever seen an egg cracked, so that response was so cute, but natural!!
I was never allowed to eat the chocolate chips before we put them in the cookies because there wouldn't be enough for the cookies...but that didn't stop me from sneaking them when mom wasn't looking!
Dude, what do you mean? I MISS commercial jingles! There aren't nearly enough of them today. Nowadays, all you hear are Pop songs recycled with reworded lyrics to suit the product they're selling! Now THAT'S lame! At least commercial jingles are creative! Bring them back, I say!
Dude, what do you mean? I MISS commercial jingles! There aren't nearly enough of them today. At least they were being creative! Nowadays, all you hear in commercials are recycled Pop songs that have the lyrics changed to suit the subject of the product they're selling! 90% of the commercials out there are like that! Now THAT'S lame! Bring back the commercial jingles, I say!
Why in the hell did every commercial in the 80s have a lame jingle?"
The 30s,40s,50s,60s & 70s took some part in this as well ;-) 80s just followed the previous format but piled on the cheese elements, or the "morsels" if you will...

I love how it says "Bakes in 8-10 minutes" during the time lapse scene of the cookies baking. I can just imagine some dumbass watching this commercial in wonder at the magic cookies that bake right before your eyes. And by the way, I like bald cookies, damn it!
lol! I have a commercial for Nestle Toll House Ready To Bake Cookie Dough from 1988! It is on a taping from The Young and the Restless. I also have an old Jaclyn Smith Kmart commercial!
Guys, shut up with the obese comments! I've eaten common American food and I'm freakin' skinny!

Really? If the foods in the 1980s were so bad for you, then why didn't we have problems with obesity then like we do today? Hummm?

Man, I'm going to have to find an audio file of this (better than the option of ripping it from this).
I could find so many uses for a song like this.

i mix up a batch now & then, and add molasses to the standard recipe for a slightly bolder taste and chewier texture. totally rules.

Yummm....back in the day, when people still mixed up the cookie dough in the bowl.
Today, IF anyone takes the time to bake cookies, they do it using those pre-cut cookie dough thingies (which actually are pretty easy).
Fresh baked chocolate-chip cookies just rock so much more than the crap from the bag!
