Continuing my comment here: During one of Jaime's classes,

those auto-called education luminaries retested the students because they "thought" that the "inner city" individuals were not that good for Calculus...

Jaime battled lots of retrograde dispositions from those auto-called education luminaries; dispositions that label, unreasonably categorize, and many times sentence others. Similar retrograde disposition drives all forms of so-called administrators; the vast majority of federal, state, CEOs, office managers, factory supervisors, etc. In other words, people who have not a clue as to what true administration is.

Tragically, I just discovered this video and I only just heard the sad new of Mr. Escalante's passing. What a great man he was. If there is a memorial fund I will go there and donate what I can. Thank you for this video.

Hey Vanessa, don Escalante is my friend too.

although i never met him, I thought about him often. He is till to this day a source of inspiration and his memory will live on for I will tell my little nieces and nephews about a great man that wielded super hero math powers, while I teach them calculus.

hi my name is mayra and i go to yes prep west!! one of the teachers ..well principal of a yes school was a student of mr escalante. my school tried to help him by paying $2 to go watch "Stand and Deliver."we hope hat our donations are enough to help him!!our motto here is "Whatever It Takes". we will try to do watever it takes to help him .I really hope that he can get better.we actually saw the movie today and i just came home from watching it i really enjoyed it.
