hi :) good axel attempts but i have a little advice for you :)
try and imagine yourself doing a huge waltz jump with a loop jump while your in the air, plus, the higher you jump, you should be able to control your jump more with your legs :) also you need to keep your body parallel with the ice which is why we call it a parallel spin in the uk :) xx

your scratch spins are brill :) Perfect position in the camel to :) but when your doing your axel dont be afraid of falling, good attempts thow :) Overall brill vid!

all you need to do to land your axel is get more speed on the crossovers, and when you jump, go for it and bring that leg up then to the loop position. pretend someone punched your left shoulder to help you go around. hope i helped!

Well for your axel you have to use your leg more and your arms more. that will make you go higher so you'll have time to finish the rotations. Good luck :]
ony our Camel spin.. your too much on the edge causing you to over balance.. you will be able to hole the spin longer if you stay off the edge a little bit :) looking good!
I have a trick that Im trying to work on... when you take-off, put your legs together as fast as possible before landing and the right should look like you are crossing a fence....

yeah i hope they start on axels soon!i ask it everytime,but there are lots of people that have lots of trouble with even doing a salchow jump and that's why we don't start to practice on axels :'(

your axel attempts are only wals jumps with a backspin, jump higher and really drive your leg and get into that backspin positiion! do lots of walk throughs and back spins and jump high and drive your leg!|

Thank you! I went to my local ice rink for a free adult lesson, and turns out, I can still do spins and jumps that I learned when I was 9! I signed up for adult skating lessons again. My first class is this Saturday! I hope I can get better and compete again =)
Ik weet wel wrm je je benen niet tegen elkaar kan houden: hoe dieper je zit, hoe sneller je draait (logisch), hoe meer de massa van je lichaam naar de buitenkant wordt getrokken. Dat probleem heb ik ook! En als je eens je axel onder de knie hebt zal je zeker zeggen: "Was het dat? Zo moeilijk is dat toch niet!"

Anyway, just go for it in the sit spin. No matter how much anyone tries to change the technique etc, it all boils down to how much falls you're willing to take before getting a low good spin. Don't hunch - Look at a spot on the boards and see yourself getting lower.
For axel, I will say to practice your backspin a lot. A lot a lot. I did that and it made me feel my rotatations. Practice backspin- open- close. Loop-backspin. Backspin-jump.
like when you kick your leg though do it faster and more al thought ur kicking some thing ... that way you will get more height and then that allows for more rotation
Practicing off ice will help with the axel. Make sure your arms pass your sides closely and then go strait up. It will give you more time in the air. On the sit pull the inside of your right knee to the side of the left knee and point your toes! And keep your free leg strait.
thank you for ur advice,i went on skating camp for a week and my sitspin is getting better!!i hurt myself yesterday ,fell on my but really hard and my muscle feels really sore so i think i wont be able to skate for at least 1 week...:( hope it feels better soon!

For the axel and doubles.....the secret for rotation is to check the left shoulder (for ccw jumpers) on takeoff and jump INTO your left shoulder. That is, bring your right side up and around so that it "catches" your left shoulder, then everything rotates together. Right now, your left shoulder is leaving early, so your rotation is wide in the air. Also, try to bend knee deeper on takeoff ... But the left shoulder is the key.
Do you jump the axel off ice? It's a good idea to try the jump on a soft surface (grass) to get the feel of it.... Especially if you jump into your left shoulder. BE CAREFUL!! You are going to rotate VERY fast in the air and it may throw you off balance at first. It is best to get the feel of this off ice so you don't get hurt. You can also get the deeper knee bend more easily off ice since you don't have to worry so much about holding your edge. Be careful and good luck!! :-)
Your catch foot spiral is beautiful!! I'm still working on my axel, so I can't really give any magic tips:) Bending the knee deeply on the take-off has helped mine, and so has jumping more off the toe rather than the flat of the blade. Good luck with yours!
i can make the rotation in the jump, but then i cant land it - its really frustrating!
and another thing is that i have 3 trainers , but only one of them can teach me anything because ive become better then one of them and the other are almost never there!
so if I had other trainers I would develop more, but im not blaming it all one my trainers - Im the one doing the work after all, but they are the one telling me how to...im just babbling
Looks like you're making some good progress. If you want me to offer any advice, I would suggest really using your knees, and bending more for your axel. Also working on bending more will help your other elements, like your spins.
Good luck with everything, and just remember to pull in more on your axel. I'm sure you'll have it rotated soon enough :)
no problem. bending nicely in the knees is really the secret to having good height in your jumps, and good positioning in your spins, stroking, etc. If you really pay attention to bending more, I think you'll notice some big improvements! Good Luck!!!

ps: I wouldn't practise axels with speed yet, just try it from standing still because otherwise it's more dangerous.

Try bending your knees a bit more to get some more air time. Then you'll be able to fit in your spins. :3

Do you jump the axel off ice? It's a good idea to try the jump on a soft surface (grass) to get the feel of it.... Especially if you jump into your left shoulder. BE CAREFUL!! You are going to rotate VERY fast in the air and it may throw you off balance at first. It is best to get the feel of this off ice so you don't get hurt. You can also get the deeper knee bend more easily off ice since you don't have to worry so much about holding your edge. Be careful and good luck!! :-)

Your catch foot spiral is beautiful!! I'm still working on my axel, so I can't really give any magic tips:) Bending the knee deeply on the take-off has helped mine, and so has jumping more off the toe rather than the flat of the blade. Good luck with yours!

i agree, axel is really hard!
i can make the rotation in the jump, but then i cant land it - its really frustrating!
and another thing is that i have 3 trainers , but only one of them can teach me anything because ive become better then one of them and the other are almost never there!
so if I had other trainers I would develop more, but im not blaming it all one my trainers - Im the one doing the work after all, but they are the one telling me how to...im just babbling

Looks like you're making some good progress. If you want me to offer any advice, I would suggest really using your knees, and bending more for your axel. Also working on bending more will help your other elements, like your spins.
Good luck with everything, and just remember to pull in more on your axel. I'm sure you'll have it rotated soon enough :)

no problem. bending nicely in the knees is really the secret to having good height in your jumps, and good positioning in your spins, stroking, etc. If you really pay attention to bending more, I think you'll notice some big improvements! Good Luck!!!

jeej weer een filmpje! je camels worden echt goed joh:O ik ben jaloers haha! en je axel attempts zijn best goed joh je positie in de lucht is goed in ieder geval!
voor je sit spin, ik weet niet of het helpt, maar probeer nog verder met je armen en schouders naar voren te reiken dan kan je dieper en ben je stabieler ofzo? dat krijg ik altijd te horen op de club:P

dank je meid!!nou men axels kunnen wel beter,maar ja ik ben ook zonder coach aan het oefenen dus weet niet waar ik echt nog moet op letten,ik denk dat het op kamp wel veel beter zal gaan lukken!ik hoop het in elk geval!!
en men sitspin is echt een ramp!!haha hoe krijg ik men benen tegen elkaar?het lukt me nooit!!echt heel raar!

Nice :) I think you'll get used to more rotations in the air soon. your legs seem to be in a backspin position an this is really good. I'm afraid to try axel on ice :D nice camels :) your sit spin is centered it will get lower with time. :)

yeah it's kinda scary,i'm afraid to jump high although i think it would make it easier to rotate faster...i hope i'll land it soon!!i really want to start with doubles!
