I love Avicii's remix, and I think Mary & Max is a beautiful film. However, I did not hear this song from either of those. I heard it as I was falling asleep on my Arcade Fire pandora station [very random] and when the strings entered in, I swear my heart skipped a beat and I momentarily stopped breathing. Melodramatic, but completely amazing, and this has been my favorite song since.

The first time I ever heard this song, it was background music for a PBS special on the World Trade Centers. I had originally thought the music was made for the show, so I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever hear it again, let alone know who performed it and its name. Absolutely stunning work. It is definitely shiver-music.

This is one of the only things that can cheer me up on a bad day, and I have had many many many gut wrenching days... it's just so .... you know what,I can't even describe the emotion! tragic somehow? just the way it all starts from one small simple melody is amazing :/ I found this in max and mary a film that moved me more than forrest gump (which is pretty hard to do). btw this is coming from an average 13 year old girl who has done her fair share of mistakes.

in a bbc studio in bristol, uk. someone I knew was working on the programme. it's not like a normal concert - sometimes they do more than 1 take, sometimes they keep stopping part way into one of the pieces and starting again. but they like to have a live audience.
