i can agree that MOST death metal bands are just noise but like Cannibal Corpse (with Corpsegrinder) i can understand what he says plus it's not all about fucking corpses it's also killing people lol. and there are a couple other good bands out there. but yeah most of the death metal is shit noise.
i dont agree that most of the death metal is just '' noise'' ,they made their music for some reason! its just a matter of taste, i think you should listen to death metal some more (just like you did with melodic death metal) before you can see the beauty of death metal

Norther is Melodic death metal. But I'm going to have to agree with ZZZ, if you don't listen to regular death metal also....you are not a true metalhead. Behemoth for example is death metal, the lyrics aren't about Satan. They are about not being a slave to an imaginary god, and to worship yourself. To stop living under the sandal of a Jewish MAN that lived 2000 years ago. To take pride and strength from the accomplishments and mistakes of man. Not some fucking fake god. mightiest self!
