I remember watching this for the first time.. I think it was actually the first time I ever wanted to cry at a movie. It was such a heart wrenching speech and you just think to yourself he had the world in his hand and now hes taking his own life. He had everything and his life was only going to get better. Great movie. Great ending.
in the end of the play othello stabs himself because there was guilt in him about killing desdemona and letting iago kill him. also does micheal actually die in the movie because if he does then that is false information from the book.

hate to say this but i actually prefer o's adaptation of the ending over the original play's ending.
to me o's is just more tragic and consequential and irreperable whereas the original play or the film othello with laurence fishbourne, othellos just kills iago and is like meh wont happen again. kind of weak and left something to be desired in my opinion

@trollionaire In the original play, Othello never killed Iago. He just cut him, not even a mortal wound.
Othello then kills himself, but in his dying breath he kisses his Desdimona one last time and dies.
Iago then suffers torturing for as many years as possible before he dies.
