  • the best way to play an instrument is drunk well done man, and im an irisman

  • Put a bit of lilt into it, son!

  • I was thirsty. I haven't learned how to play sober yet.

  • whats with the beer?

  • I hate making comments on the few who dislike but how can anyone not appreciate the talent? Thanks Eye Scream :)

  • hey what banjo is this (meaning make and model)

    thanks

  • @hendrix184

Its a Gold Tone CC Tenor.

  • @arsonic11 thats what i thought, how do you like it?

  • @hendrix184 I have not complaints. I've played it regularly for 6 or 7 years and it's still good as new.

  • great stuff pal, sitting here with my tenor banjo round my neck, playing chords....need tae get into some picking stuff, few cans of stella and .....who knows...lol

  • You play better drunk than most people play sober. Great job.

    Thanks

  • You have all the right notes, and you play them cleanly, but you're playing it in 4/4 time, and a reel should be in "cut" time with a bounce. I know the Session website writes this tune as 4/4, but that's not how it's played. Thanks for posting. Bill

  • I mean.. look up EVERY OTHER Tenor banjo vid on Youtube... theres only one kind of Tenor banjo !

  • irish tenor banjos have a smaller scale length with 17 frets and are traditionally tuned GDAE. Plectrum banjos are most commonly tuned CGBD and have a longer scale length , 19 frets i think, but both can be changed to other tunings so the scale length and number of frets is the real key to which is which

  • No thats misleading to people Its the same instrument. As a long time Zouk player, my instrument comes under the same misguidance There are varying scale lengths but thay are the same instrument. Its not 'different'. ( with the zouk, go short enough and it becomes an octave mandolin ), but for tenor banjo's the scale length can change a little, but the instrument doesn't morph into something different, they're still Tenor banjos.. . There's no seperate 'Plectrum banjo', you're incorrect.

  • @Jenxxie no separate 'plectrum banjo' Of course there is google bernunzio uptown music go into his website and you'll see that plectrum and tenor banjos are sold separately

  • Irish tenor banjos can be 17 or 19 frets. Fiddle or mandolin fingering is usually easier sith the shorter scale. The GDAE tuning is the only difference from a standard tenor, which is also 19 frets (although some modern manufacturers have added a 20th fret to provide a high F). Plectrum banjos have 22 frets.

  • there are many different kinds of 4 string banjos, they might go by different names, 'banjolele' , 'banjolin', etc

nice drum machine sounds tho. sounds like a hardcore punk beat.

  • Dude, he's told ya.. its a tenor banjo.. what are you going on about ? "Plectrum banjo" ? Theres' tenors, bluegrass (5-string), 6 string guitar banjo's, Banjolin's ( like the mandolin ), Banjolele.. like a Uke.. but WTF you are yakin about is anyones guess. Its a Tenor 4 string banjo ok ?

  • Is that a Plectrum Banjo?

  • It's a tenor banjo played with a plectrum (pick).

  • you know that a plectrum banjo is a different kind of tenor banjo, right? i asked becausethe neck seems longer than that on a standard tenor banjo

  • he, buddy that was impressive.

  • dude that was awsome! i am going to learn it now!

  • U know were i can find sheets or tabz to this song? i really need to learn this song on my banjo

  • I learned this song from a book called: "100 Irish Tunes for Piano Accordion" it's a Mel Bay publication.

  • You should try clawhammer that way you dont need a drum machine :) nice playing

  • great playing... I recommend the Skels also, there in itunes etc....

  • Hayhay

    o o o o

    ey ey ey ey

  • I liked the splash cymbal.

  • Splash cymbal? Ok, note to self..."need more spash cymbal".

  • that and cowbell.

  • That's great! Makes me want to grab a beer and pick up my banjo...

  • Oh.. that was the first tune I learned for mandolin :-)

  • I think I was drunk when I wrote that, I'll make a video response tomorrow

  • im playing piano accordion along with you and its hard to keep up in the last part of the second part

  • That's funny, cause the piano accordion player I play with says I play it too slow. Drives me nuts. I can't keep up with him.

  • Irish Tuning: GDAE (thickest - smallest)

  • what is the tuning of your banjo

  • I love it. Great stuff.

  • keep it eal pal, good stuff. u remind me of me playin :)

  • Yeah, I watched you're video. Funny shit.

  • good stuff - keep it up!

  • Ok, but my hand gets so tired!
