  • my orthopedic dr is sending me to a specialist in boston. today after 16 months of constant pain (also treated TOS in my shoulder) he has suspicion that I have a TFCC tear. I can do anything. I can push myself out of bed with my hands (well my right hand at least) I can't turn it over, my wrist clicks and my joints are very unstable. I have 0 insurance as well this is going to be a fun adventure

  • please guys go look on my channel i need tips if i have tfcc it just takes 1 minute pleassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I injured my right wrist in May 2009 (17 y.o at the time) due to improper gripping and repetitive motions during weight lifting. Over the past 2 years I have visited a variety of health care professionals including my family practitioner, physiotherapist, chiropractor, as well as a renowned sports medicine specialist. I have tried 2 seperate types of braces; neither of which made much of a difference in the clicking/weakness. I am hopeful that my wrist is finally beginning to regain strength.

  • I fell 4 mo ago. Just had MRI. Showed focal partial thickness tear of the central and peripheral triangular fibrocartilage. I'm hoping that becuz it's partial thickness I can get away with a brace n PT.

My favorite wrist brace is MODABBER. It's super comfortable.

  • Done TFCC tear in June last year. Kept the pain for 6 wks thinking i had just sprained it. When it didnt heal went to doc who sent me to hospital, who sent me for MRI. Not only TFCC done but also bone disintigration, cist on bone, ganglion cists on thumb side and cartalidge damage. All this is thaks to dancing with my 17 year old son.

Going for op in the morning and dreading rehab. Thanks for the heads up guys.

You described my life for the last 8mths exactly!

  • im on my second week... TFCC due to a poor technique in my BH

  • @EatMyBeat BH ?

  • Small TFCC Tears/Damage/Bruising, Along With Other Possible 27 Ligament Tears/Damage/Bruising, Can Cause Mid Carpal Instability (MCI)/Palmar Midcarpal Instability (PMCI).

  • Those minor injury can use splint to minimise the movement..

was on in for 04 weeks..

  • @crankyeplus I am on day 2 after our puppy ran and snapped her leash. lol. It stink, I felt "okay" other than pushing on a door before the doc, but he gave me a steroid (corizone?) injection and it hurts now. In a splint for 2 months.

  • hey, i had my wrist done 7 months ago. and omg does it still hurt. i love going to the gym and now i cant do weights or even work cos of it. im still on pain pills and they dont work any more. should of not got it done!!!

  • i tore my tfcc sleeping on it wrong. how special am i?

it sucks, i just got my full arm cast off and it still hurts. i need an mri.

    :(

  • thanks for the info bro, good to kno

  • Well done video!

There is a newer splint on the market called the 3pp Carpal Lift. You can find information about it on the 3pointproducts web site. Go to "Products" and look for it under "Wrist & Elbow Splints". Sammons Preston sells it on line but their search function doesn't always work... There is a link from the 3Point site to the Sammons site if you go to the Where to Buy page and loo the item up there.

  • i have to get an MRI soon to check if i have TFCC in my right wrist... im really scared. and the doctor says i have to get ink injected in my wrist so that they can see it better on the MRI :/

  • What is your imput on a minor tfcc injury? I did boxing on a bag for aout 2 month, noticed this pain recently and is fairly minor, only when a grab something or shake a hand can I feel a minor to moderate pain. Should a splint for 4-6 weeks be suffice?

  • this injury does suck. It is actually much more common and prevalent when people have ulnar variance, which means the ulnar is a little bit too long for the radius. You can tell you have ulnar variance if your lump of bone on the side of the ulnar near the wrist is high in protrusion.

  • this video has been soo informative. I can't believe how well you explain it compared to my own Doctor.

  • I was injured Aug 2009. went through 3 months of physical therapy. I had a Radial TFCC Repair surgery Jan, 5 2010 and Still recovering to this day! Still have pain in my wrist. Limited mobility. This kind of injury is hard to recover from.

  • Stretched both my left and right TFCC about 2 months ago... It's a pain in the ass...

  • Correction to my previous post: Should have read: Now, the RIGHT side of my wrist hurts as well as my left side..."

  • My right wrist hurt really bad in 9/29-went to the ER, was put in a hard cast, and went to ortho, & was in brace for a month. Still hurting, tried cortisone shot. Painfree 1 month. Had an MRI. There is a "...at least a probable partial tear of the TFCC". He is referring me to a hand surgeon. Now, the left side of the wrist hurts. Not in as bad a pain as back in September. Should I wait and see if it gets better?

  • i ruined my wrists for working out in correctly. 2.2 years later it's only worse.. tried the wrist widget, didnt work. tried meds, tired rest. nothing left but surgery

  • i have the WristWidget. I've been wearing it for over a month now. it's helping but i havent noticed any drastic change. i used to work out a lot and i ended up having to stop due to the pain in my right wrist.

The chiropractor i visited informed me that i had a mild strain, although i continued to work out over the past month and now it clicks even more... i've decided to completely give up working out until my wrist heals.

  • Thank you very much for this video. I just went to the doctor and he told me I probably have TFCC and will be getting tested for it next week.

  • this sounds like what i just had fixed...he didn;t tell me what i tore just that it was cartilage and there's a hole in it to...

  • did you go for surgery zivalover16 dude i hate this shit i tore it right off i hope this gets better how u feeling

  • yea. I had the surgery on Monday and am still hurting bu it's a different type of pain. The dr was an ass and didn't explain anything to me. I'm hoping that the surgery did the trick. He told me he shaved what I tore

  • @zivalover16 how's ur wrist now after 11 months putting ur comment here on youtube?! Btw did ur wrist pain go away a few times and came back during the injury?? Thxx man !

  • @schouten841 It's finally better. I just got out of physical therapy today!!... but yea it went away and came back several times...
