It's true that a listener's understanding is the most important, but many songs were about her "coping with robin" as she said. For me, it's her amazing journey as a woman and artist hidden in some of the songs we can understand, i.e. "im losing the stars i enlisted to find you."
finally, it's taken me years, but i think i have the chorus. remember liz sings polysyllabically and changes vowels. my first thought: are these liz's fears of robin's drug use?
Sorry but chances are at this early stage it more than likely gibberish. Watch the interview and take the hard road alot of us have had to, the words meant nothing in the literal sense. They meant EVERYTHING by the way she sang them....
I love @ 2:06 Robin is strumming,.. pauses and looks up at Liz..looks down strums again looks back up at Liz...ohhhhhhh the Magic.....they had a baby ya know..that baby should have wings..
This song is on the same titled EP that I adore, which include the mind blowing surreal poetry in sound song "Those Eyes, That Mouth". If a music like this touches your feelings and move you, congratulations; you understand everything!
holy spirit you made that one absolutly eternaly everlasting chilling perfect; it is the first time in my life i hear that song; gave all my favorites to it. cant get enough from
that inspirement. onethousandone kisses for you forever
slmost wished that you did'nt post the words to this because when I first saw this video I had NO IDEA what she was saying..........once heard and saw that guitars could make sounds like these....big shock... I watched her mouth form all words she was saying..lip sync to your on song or not.. that's perfect ! !.. emotion in her face when telling the story....whoa..I never,..
check out robin when it starts.. he doesnt fake strum or nothing till it's his part......NO one was doing this back then really,.. they had the look of echo and the bunny man and dead can dance and all of that BUT ! ! for 3 PEOPLE... the WALL of sound that they created in this video/song ...so nut's ! !
@ultracrunchy I don't think they generally created all that sound with just the singular playing of Guthrie and Raymonde. When you listen to them live, there's clearly more than drum machine on the backing tape for many of the songs that contain keyboards and effects. And from what I've seen they never used a keyboard player for live work. I'm not knocking them, I love them, and I'm not a 'live music' obsessive! But lots of their music was quite dense studio stuff in my humble opinion.
Liz's amazing vocal harmonies require some state of multi track stuff...Of course she mimes some things...hey...get a grip....Saw her live when the computer went 'bing' in the middle of Sugar Hiccup...They picked up and started all over - and they still rocked - and we still loved 'em!
Loves Easy Tears was an EP released in 1986. There are three other tracks including the goose-bump frenzy of Those Eyes, That Mouth. All of the EPs were re-released in a compilation box set called Lullabies to Violaine, released by 4AD in 2005. Hope you find it!
One of my all time favorite CT tunes - this is a really clear vid and the audio is fine, too. I especially love the bubbly part that begins at about 2:18, where Liz sings an interlude bit that sounds so matter-of-fact, conversation-like. I don't know how to express what I mean, but she sounds great, regardless.
superannuated, angelstep-annulled, summerbreath in winterblink,
jewelcase-reminder, transcendent water echo in an ocean tear,
that's what i hear in love's easy tear.

Please remember that these are not the actual lyrics. They are a phonetic transcription based on one listener's impression.

@ultracrunchy Woah, I never thought about that. There's only 3 of them. And "wall of sound" is such an apt description.
