In other countries they ban Hijabs and headscarves. In Sri Lanka, the government gives free extra clothing for Muslim girl for headscarves? Who is more tolerant. Of course if the girls themselves feel they don't want to listen to their fundamentalist parents and want to fit in with the wider Sri Lankan community by taking off their hijabs before they go to school, that's excellent.
I am a muslim and i hink this hijab thing is utter BS if you know what i mean. it is a part of an ancient tradition which should be shed if muslims are to progress. Grow up stupid brothers and sisters!

What about in Arab countries. Sp. Saudi, they force all ladies to wear hijab including non-Muslims. Also why Muslim girls need to go Non-Muslim Schools. Muslim girls should not study according to Islam also.

after this muslims destroyed some of the shops in colombo. there is no complaints from anyone of a such rule that muslim girls cann't wear the hijab to school. it's just dirty politics mate. easiest way to win a election is to get different races to fight with one another.

This is 100% fault of the parents of the girls. There is absolutely no reason for them send their daughters to non-Muslim schools when there are plenty of Muslim scholls in the vicinity.
