Great job, well done! Me and my buddies been playing together for years and Stormy Monday is an all time fave. You nailed it. Good ABB chops but sounds like you added some of your own as well. Any good player does that!
@whitepaw54 I was going to respond to your critique, but I checked your channel and found you didn't have any videos of your own posted....and I guess "that" says it all.
where can i get a drum backing like you have that sounds like real drums, I paid 375.00 for a drum machine, that sucks, plus you need a phd to program it.
I use an Alesis SR-16 drum machine. It's been around forever, and there are probably many for sale from private owners. Recently, I did a drum track recording by simply playing along with the original song, and separately recorded each drum on my multi-track computer software. I started with the snare, then the kick, then the cymbols, etc. This way, I didn't have to design different tracks on the drum machine, and had more control of the final drum mix because each track was recorded separately
Thanks Alex...When I'm considering which covers to do on YT, I do a search on a particular song to see how many others have attempted it. If there are few or no videos of that song, I go for it. I also like to try songs that are a bit more difficult to play than the usual stuff. That's why I liked your Steve Morse songs. Very well done on difficult material....Peter
Thank you. Rockin' Johhny did Hideaway. We played in a band together years ago. He really performs it well, especially being live. Your site has the most Steve Morse (Dixie Dregs) covers on YouTube...very well done!
Thanks much. I was in a Southern Rock band in the 70's doing covers of Allman Bros, Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc..and back then it was cool to try to copy solos note for note. I'm glad you appreciate it.
Awesome man! I love that Allman brothers sound, he was a true artist...you could always recognize the soul in his music. My uncle played a MusicMan, good job.
whitepaw is a idiot , you played that song with soul and feeling , very nice
