  • Silly man doesn't know even fundamental doctrine of Mormons. Salvation is impossible without Christ, Mormons agree. However they don't teach, like most other Christians, that God is the only deciding factor in one's salvation. Because salvation is conditional on obedience to Christ. Considering that we have the choice to follow Christ and be "born again," are we not in control over our salvation?

A sky diver may not control gravity, but he has the choice to utilize it.

    This is plain logic.

  • Mormons dont believe in "cleaning yourself up" or "saving yourself." You obviously think you know alot about the church, but know very little.

  • @yellowcorba1 "Thats the problem with christianity you think oh he is mormon he must be this way?"

That is what Joel Osteen don´t do for that I know he is a true christian.

  • Its not saving if you can do it yourself

  • If people want to know about (Sin) then they should read, (Romans 1, Romans 5, Genesis 6, 1 Corinthians 9 and Revelations 21), and also see (Mark 7, Jeremiah 17, Proverbs 28), these chapters should help give an idea of what (Sin) truly is and what God thinks of them, this is just a suggestion in case anyone would like to check it out for themselves.

  • This may sound like a broken record. But mormons do rely on God more then most, But all christians believe in the atonement where christ took are sins and suffered and bled for our wrongs. Now Mormons believe we should try and ease this suffering even if by a little by doing the right thing in our lives. we can not be made perfect with out his great love and sacrifice for us. But i believe mormon's show that love back by living as righteous as possible.

  • Not true. Of course we believe that Christ is the only way to be saved. We're sinners. That doesn't mean we sit and wait for grace. We live a Christ like life. If we don't live for Christ and follow him he won't save us. Ate you a true believer in Christ if you don't follow and obey his commandments?

  • @gubbnuts "We're sinners. That doesn't mean we sit and wait for grace."

As I´ve seen before I become LDS and still see. Talking in general terms LDS are the strongest christians and your statement sum up why.

  • This guy has no idea what hes talking about. The idea that letting god take care of everything for you is an excuse to try and not have to live righteously. Its an idea for the lazy and the weak. If life on earth is a test of righteousness, then we have to make a personal effort.

  • MORE LIES!!!! I don't know of a single mormon who overcame sin without Christ. Or who believes they can save themselves. We are fully aware that we CANNOT save ourselves from/in sin. We can do nothing without Christ & knowing that we are children of God doesn't negate the fact that we know of ourselves we are nothing!!!

Christ spoke strongly against liars, so because you have "accepted Christ" does that mean it's ok for you to lie? sounds like a pharasiacle philosophy.

  • Mormons are really nice people. All-American types.

Now, their religion is a complete and utter laughingstock and a third rate copy of Christianity , right down to Joseph Smith writing his bogus Book of Mormon in 1600's King James english to copy that version of the Bible even though he wrote the Book of Mormon in 1800's America. Oops minor error. Or maybe God's language is King James English and so that's why the BoM is in KJV? hahahhah.

  • even some mistranslations from the greek is in KJV, and those are also in the Book of Mormon...

  • about 1200 recorded I believe.

  • Joseph Translated the book through God in our language. Something that we as a people could understand. It was not origianlly written in KJV language

  • yes it was, the edition Smith wrote was in KJV, completely ridiculous in mid 1800's America...unless you're trying for a two bit copy of the Bible, which was most common in that 1500's English form.

  • Okay, but your hair cut looks really nice. I love it. Long hair looks okay on some people, but Shawn looks very nice w/ this hair cut.

  • the lust of the flesh("that white shirt is beautiful"),the lust of the eyes("you're haircut looks nice") and the pride of life("you received the A or M priesthood,prophet,bishop..ect.").

Exactly how Satan deceived Eve in Gen 3:6. Lust of the flesh(..good for food),lust of the eyes(saw...) and the pride of life(to make one wise).

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?-Matt 16:26.

    Seek Jesus.

  • Pride is a great sin.

I can think of 1 religion that is full of pride.

  • @awolLDSasap

    All of them?

  • all worksbased religions.

    Islam

    Mormonism

    Hinduism

    Jehovas Witnesses

Liberal non-christians who profess to be Christians

Following the flesh and the world

  • Right on my friend!!

  • @testskriftene

I would say that it takes a certain amount of pride for anyone to claim to have a personal relationship with the creator of existence.

  • Even when they claim that the only reason they HAVE that relationship is because of God's grace to an unworthy sinner and by no work or merit of their own?

  • @EmBeesWeb

If that were the case then I'd agree with you, but that isn't the case at all. That's just the way that some Christians like to spin it.

The fact of the matter is, Christians claim that they have a personal relationship with God because they chose the correct religion. If it were truly through no work or merit of your own, then you wouldn't have to do anything for it, including believing in or worshiping the god of the Bible.

  • Totally disagree with that.

  • @smckee113

You disagree that it takes pride to believe that the all knowing, all powerful, creator of existence has a personal interest in your life? It certainly doesn't take humility.

  • There is only 1 church that asks ex members "what part of being perfect couldn't you live up to and made you leave"?

There was never a better definition of pride.

  • I'll bet your proud to not be part of that Church anymore.

  • no pride... I am worried about the deception my family has been told is Gods truth.... These priesthood elders as they call themselves need to be re educated.
