Somehow the media has brainwashed Americans into believing that invading foreign countries, while disregarding their Constitutions, and rule of law, while killing scores of civilians is a 'strong foreign policy'. Not to mention spreading our military thin throughout the world and leaving our borders wide open.
I think what we consider a strong foreign policy is a bit skewed.
These pro-Ron Paul videos on Youtube are giving me a bit of optimism -- and that's saying a lot considering I'm quite pessimistic. The actual reason for the war on Iraq that I collected was because Saddam Hussein was trying to take back Kuwait again, I say again because it happened in '91. Part 6: By brining most of our military back to bases in the USA we put all of that $ back in to OUR economy while keeping the numbers and strength of military we need for our national defense. We also open up a massive number of jobs in the USA to support these bases in stead of hiring people from the local economy of the foreign countries. The cost savings are massive, but the biggest impact is putting that military $ back in to OUR economy. -VOTE Ron Paul in 2012-
Part 5: Ron Paul's plan is to pull back our military forces, but keep the same forces. Over seas bases (900) of them are very expensive. The land the base is on is rented and $ paid to the land owner. Shipping a military person and his family and their possessions over seas is very expensive. The renting of apartments and homes, utility bills are very expensive. All of this $ and the $ the military spend out your paychecks go in to that foreign counties economy.
Part 4: Currently in the United States we have our own problems. The police force has been militarized. The people are being repressed by the economy. We have homeless and gang violence. We have children being taken from their parents because they can no longer provided for them. We have a government agency shipping guns in to Mexico to drug cartels and a plethora of other issues we need to attend to. It's time we fix our own country and vote out the corruption that has put us in this position.
Part 3: I joined the military to serve and protect my country. I take my Oath to defend the United States from enemy's foreign and domestic very seriously. War by it's very nature is terrorism. It's purpose is to instill a level of fear so great that it will force your enemy to submit to you and your conditions. It should only be used when your enemy and his entire population is against you. It should never be used a humanitarian option or it is not war it is just terrorism.
Part 2: The only way to remove a dictator is from with in by the people whom are repressed. The best way to do that is to show them what they are missing and slowly change their minds. What you may see as an abuse may be there rule of law. It may have been there law for the last thousand years. Those people know their laws and if they violate them and are put to death it was by their rule of law. The military and people of my country shouldn't be paying or dieing for your opinion.
People who want to decimate entire countries for human rights abuses are just as bad as those who partake of the abuses. War is not a precision tool to eliminate a dictator and the bad people. War is the complete and utter decimation of a country and it's infrastructure to a point that that country is set back in to the stone age. No water, No food, No communication, No laws. The children and the weak whom you report to want to save are the ones who die of starvation, disease and the elements.
I think we're all for human rights...but don't you think its massively ironic that we're giving up OUR OWN civil rights that protect OUR OWN CITIZENS from human rights abuses? How can we protect other countries when we can't prevent opression here in the "homeland"? Who's going to protect you from @lotusexigedragon when he declares you a threat to national defense and locks you up in a detention center without trial, and later assassinates you later because he can't afford to keep you fed.

The actual reason for the war on Iraq that I collected was because Saddam Hussein was trying to take back Kuwait again, I say again because it happened in '91. By losing Kuwait to Iraq, they can control a majority of oil prices, which also can force countries to buy their oil with their currency. I believe Qaddafi faced the same issue.

Add all the video games, tv shows, movies, comics. Out culture is becoming totally militarized in our thinking, language, imagery, & symbolism. This is a tenet of FASCISM. Bring 'em home.
