@comanecisalto1 Alicia's olympic experience is not Shawn's foul, so there's no explanation to Alicia deserves it. Alicia had problems with her 3rd pass, and Shawn's routine was better in my opinion.
@comanecisalto1 An athlete doesn't "deserve" a title because she's had worse experiences. An athlete deserves a title if she is the BEST at that competition. Doesn't matter if ASac's routine is usually awesome. It wasn't on this night. She made a huge mistake and was lucky to get silver. Her own fault, not Shawn's.

It depends on the gymnast. Usually a gymnast will always twist the same direction. Generally it's in the direction of her "better leg"-the leg she uses for split leaps and jumps and the one she leads with. If you're right-legged, you'll twist to the right, lefties to the left. Hope that helps. :-)
I think she just was really upset at herself... and she was reigning champ right? She shouldn't have blown off Shawn, BUT... her emotions are completely valid. I'd rather be real than be fake and say, "ooooh i'm SOOOO happy for you." They ARE teammates but they are competing against one another.

Besides, if everyone had hit that night, Alicia would have won a bronze and not silver. She should have been grateful than Cheng Fei screwed up her piked tsukahara in the end!

I think Shawn Johnson has just as poor sportsmanship as Alicia. She gets every title and just smiles and walks around like she is the best at everything. It would be better for her to lose something to a girl a few years older, it would put her in her place for once.
Smiling is poor sportsman ship? What do you want her to do?? Shawn is very down to earth and humble in her interviews. She seems almost confused and bewildered by her success. Alicia seems very pompous and like the world owes her or something.

She was really full of herself in hs and it was ridiculous because she was rarely there... so she gave people a very sour impression of herself in short spurts of time.
