  • And in case you are wondering...I've been a personal trainer since 1984, a group fitness instructor since 1988, I've been certified by ACE, AFAA, Step Reebok, Certified First Responder, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. I certainly know a thing or two about the human body, physiology, kinesthiology, body mechanics and proper exercise technique.

  • If that's not enough, I've had 2 natural births - 8 lbs 8 oz baby boy, followed 21 months later by a 10 lb 3 oz baby girl. Both completely natural births, both perfectly healthy babies and I taught aerobics, worked out and continued to practice chiropractic literally to within hours of giving birth.

I post this because so many of our subscribers have inboxed me to ask that we remove his post and block him...perhaps he'll do a little research.

  • I'm going to leave up the post by the well-meaning but obviously misinformed guy below...just to show you how people can continue to spew propoganda. Working out is not dangerous or harmful to a woman or her baby. Quite the contrary...NOT working out should be a criminal offense!

  • Great video! Squatting is actually one of the oldest proven exercises to prepare women for birth. Most people are too de-conditioned to preform them properly, especially when pregnant. So, possibly that is where the concern is coming in. Maybe showing some modifications would be helpful.

  • good thought in this pregnancy theme but damn i wouldnt recommend a pregnant woman to do any kind of squats

  • @Vazkulator Really? Why is that? Is your comment based on any research or just personal opinion? Maintaining lower body strength is extremely important during pregnancy and very beneficial during labor and birth. It is unfortunate that old myths about prenatal fitness are still perpetuated by well-meaning but misinformed people.

  • @doctorcathy lol what? is this real life -.- motivating "any kind of pregnant woman" this "woman" could have no clue what form should be or shouldnt be, and why. use ur common sense lady, squats is dangerous and especially for a pregnant woman and judging by some of the movement u just showed in that kind of speed then my personal opinion is more solid then any of this. yes, lower body is important but take it in for improvement during pregnancy? id say stick to light cardio.

  • Wow, thanks for the great video. Good fast pace! I'll be using this vid again. The exercises are very straight forward. For anyone that has issues with the speed, try slowing your repetitions down so you don't do as many in the video, it will give you a chance to recover.

  • @darikuri Thank you!

  • Love the workout, but goes a little too fast

  • @bbucha4 Thanks - feel free to modify by doing slower or fewer reps and resting when necessary. I have other videos that you may enjoy so please visit my page to see all of them.

  • hi..i saw you videos and they are good...i am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant...i am 18 i recently had a miscarraige and i am really being careful this time. i really want to do these exercises and yoga but i am not sure if i should this early..what do you say should i or not? and till when can i like how many weeks in? i want to give birth naturally and keep in shape also...please let know what i should do..thanks!

  • @sweetgal0227 :-) congratulations with your pregnancy! I am also pregnant, starting my 7th week! good luck with the exercices!!

  • @sweetgal0227 every person is different and it really depends on how fit you were already. It's impossible to say without anyone knowing your blood pressure, weight, diet, all those things. Best to ask a doctor who can actually assess you in person. Maybe you can stream the vid on your phone so the doc can get an idea of the intensity. Good luck!

  • @sweetgal0227 Most of the videos I post are safe and effective enough for most helathy women to perform throughout their entire pregnancy with only minor modifications if needed for comfort. If you stay active during 1st trimester, it will be much easier to continue exercising up till your baby is born. Congratulations and glad to learn that you are making healthy choices for you and your baby.

  • about how many rounds of this exercise is good to do a day for me to stay in shape? i dont want to put on too much weight this time...

  • @benny198304 This video can be performed just once a day a few times each week, or 2-3 times in a row every other day. It depends what other videos you are following. I like to mix it up and do a different combination of videos and routines to get a complete workout of 30-50 minutes throughout the day.

  • 27 weeks pregnant i asked my doctors permission to partake in these exercises because i was having really tough back pain. the pains in my back have subsided i think your exercises are to credit. THANK YOU

P.S. will these exercises help make my labor easier?

  • @TheLadydaze91 Great - glad to hear! Yes, the exercises should help you stay strong and healthy for your labor and birth.

  • 38 weeks and still going, safely!!!

  • lovely huge boobs mmm

  • Hi Dr. Cathy, thanks for the videos! I was just wondering, which group of muscles are more essential for giving birth, leg or abdominal?

  • @Rinabobina12345 Leg strength is key if you plan to squat, and also to keep you strong throughout labor. Abdominal strength is key for the pushing phase. Learning about labor is essential because when you understand what a contraction is doing, you are better able to accept it and allow it to do what's necessary.

  • Doctor Cathy, im 24 weeks and I wanted to know how often throughout the day should we do these exercises because I do at lease 4 of your videos once a day.

  • hello doctor cathy,im 27weeks pregnant and its my first time to see your videos...i already started doing these exercises and it felt good...i just want to ask if these exercises can help me through my delivery?how many times a day and how many hours should i exercise?are these exercises enough eventhough i dont have time to walk or jog everyday?thank you very much for uploading videos...god bless and take care

  • @ness0828 These are designed for women who can't get to a gym or choose not to go outside. Choose from the videos on my channel and mix it up everyday. Shoot for 30-50 minutes a day, 4-7 days a week. Stay healthy and strong and you will be fine for labor. Join us on facebook at "Educated Pregnancy" for tons more info.

  • I do at lease four of her videos everyday, and Im 23 weeks. Thanks Dr. Cathy. This will be my 1st baby and I want to have a smooth delivery and if your videos will be the result of that, then they are definetly worth it !!!!!!

  • @neshacornelius21 Thanks again, Nesha!

  • I just did it and its awesome. But why did she say 'if you are still pregnant' at the end of video. As if we are not supposed to be pregnant after doing this loll

  • @awa80 Funny, I was wondering when someone would comment on that...I did this video when I was about 1/2 way through my 2nd pregnancy for some subscribers who already had their babies...so basically I wanted this video to be used both during pregnancy and after baby is born.

  • @doctorcathy Thanks for sharing. This video is awesome. Are there more videos I can do alternatively with this one? Or is this good throughout?

  • @awa80 Try the cardio abs, the warm up and the lower body workout videos on my channel. Join us on facebook at "Educated Pregnancy"

  • @262beauty so very welcome!

  • I'm so thankful for your videos! I am only 7 weeks, and I didn't know what workouts were ok and which weren't. Classes are too expensive and my normal routine of hiking up a mountain is not the best idea from what I've read. So, I knew I needed to find some workouts I could do at home that were safe. P.S. I think it's really great that you posted these while you're pregnant too!

  • @soulbern Glad you found me...keep doing what you've been doing, and don't let people scare you. As long as you atke precautions against injury and you limit yourself when you feel the need to, you should be just fine. Remember, pregnancy is a normal phase of life, not some weird disease. Keep me posted and please tell your friends about my videos!

  • so nice , i've been waiting for this video .thanks for sharing your knowledge with us .

  • @rashajodie you are welcome - I'll be adding mroe soon so check back often

  • Thanks Dr. Kathy! I'm 3 months and I've been so tired but already gained 8 pounds. I really appreciate your videos. I've watched them 3 times to get mentally ready and now I"m up (oof my butt) and doing it!

  • @iman0626 Cute - glad you decided to get up and start moving. Now don't quit on me...keep it up throughout your entire pregnancy!

  • Hi Dr Cathy im in my third trimester, wich of youre videos are good for me , and do you think with youre videos can help me to have a normal pregnancy

  • @alexrodrod Check with your midwife, but most of these should be just fine. Skip the abdominal / core workouts at this point. But the warm-up, weights, yoga and stretch are all safe and effective routines.

  • hey dr cathy.. nivi here. ur exercises ve become a part of my daily schedule. thank u . have u delivered the baby ? how r u now ? keep posting more. bye
