This is really interesting. There is a disharmony with the sounds in the background and the vocals, but somehow it all fits together to make it so that I can't stop listening. The Dali-esque album cover helps too.

I love LOVE this band. Nothing has ever sounded like them, it sounds so discordant and out of place but in the end it fits together so nicely. The vocals are outstanding and really go with the melancholy of the music, the black metal shrieks just contrast the melancholic nature and it turns aggressive, like a breaking point. Heart this.

how you define the right knowledge of music? for someone who listen Guetta and such things it's also objective that this is real music with rhythm, simplicity, mainstream happy feeling without puzzles. maybe for someone who plays classical or jazz or latin, to him VBE seems like sad/weird and mediocre rock based kind of ambient. it's all about the EXPERIENCE which of course have to do with the time if talks to you or not. especially for such musics the mood is their special point.

I think that song "Blood And Thunder" had misled you, 'cause it's one of their most commercial songs (still very good, though), but once you listen to one of their albums entirely, you understand what's the point of their music.

In other words, there could be a correlation between a band's popularity and how shitty they are, but that doesn't mean that one of these causes the other; there are several factors that are put into effect.
