it shuts off after about 3 to 5 secs... i read some reviews about it and they said it might be a power issuel. the cord was slightly battered so i spliced it. but it still shuts off after 5sec or so. now i know it would be alot more efficient just to throw it away and buy a new one(probly a hell of alot easier too) but i am very poor. so any tipers to a possible fix?
i got a zenith 27" its about 15 years old. it worked fine than one day it started sputtering. it would stableize after 5 to 10mins but than it started sputtering without ever stableizing. so i stored it and started useing a 20 or so year old 20" panasonic. i have a cool video card that enables me to use my tv as a moniter but the picture is so crapy i can barely read anything(its a challenge to type this) so i attempted getting it out of my shed and fixing it but now when i turniton it shuts off
I took the TV to a repair shop (under warranty) then I get a call back from the warranty service stating that "repairing the TV is costly to them" so they simply sent me a check of the original price.

More than likely a bad inverter transformer or bad inverter itself. Sometimes a bad CCFL back-light bulb will cause this.

I got one of these out of the trash, did some research and fixed it all for under $20.
