Real reason he won't run is he doesn't want to take the pay cut. He waxes lyrical over soldiers willing to give their lives for America, but he won't so much as give up his princely income for several years, so as to serve this country he affects to love so much. Neo-conservatism is an ACTUAL political ideology crafted and created by so called "conservative" think tank known as The Project for a New American century. Their values differ from traditional conservatism. As they feel no need to be fiscally responsible. They believe in Military expansion, corporate welfare and nation building. NON of those are traditional conservative values, hence the name NEO (new) and Con (short for conservative).

And, yes, the Neocons are not the traditional conservatives, Newt Gingrich wants to try to split the Republicans by making a new party, because he doesn't think the current Republican party is conservative enough for him.

cubfan: Basically, the neo-cons ruined the republican party. And now they are ruining our libertarian tea parties. Everything turns into war talk and religion with those guys. The tea parties were created by Libertarian Conservatives in the republican party in 07, so they could organize support for passing a bill to audit the fed. Neo-cons have now turned it into a co-opted partisan movement sponsored by fox. That's why there is so much in fighting, it's neo-cons vs libertarian conservatives.
