This is one of the best of heartfelt movie with all the great actors done an excellent job to portray such warmth feeling. It makes me feel like watching this movie over again & again. The setting, the story and the characters had all the best ingredients in there and bought so much depth in it. What we want to see is something real, something sensible, and some honest truth the way they tell the story. Shame on the American version - vanity, sex, extravagant is all to much and overrated.

This is one of the sweetest movies I have ever seen. I first saw it prior to moving to Japan for four years. I enjoyed it but did not quite understand how well it was made. It truely captures an element of Japanese society-do not be different. All of the characters were well casted and acted. Truely an all-time classic.
